I am with verizon now. how do i get my hands on another carrier SIM Card? Ebay?

ehh emmm... you go to walmart or meijer, buy a tmobile or at&t prepaid phone, take the chip from the phone you buy for like 25 bucks and activate and pop it in your touch pro2

Thanks for the post Adrianh85. Although it was a fairly easy process, the VZW Rep was completely clueless. She was telling me to going in to menu options that weren't there or that were in a completely different place. Thankfully I am fully informed of my phone thanks to this great forum. If you expect VZW to tell you exactly how to do it, then don't be surprised when you are acutally telling them the correct menus to go into. Otherwise a completely free and easy process.

u told me thank u but did u post a thank u? and the verizon tech dont know sh!t thats why i called global support directly all i needed was the unlock code i can figure the rest out myself!!

I mean't to say Global support not a VZW Rep. I called the number in the OP. Yes they do not know sh!t. Apparently even some of the Global Support staff as well. LOL... Will be thanking you shortly.

I'm confused. So you are saying that you are able to use a US Carrier SIM card on VZW TP2? I thought these phones were locked down to only use overseas carrier SIMs? Or is this an OVERSEAS SIM card you are using in your phone?

i used a maryland activated tmoblie sim card without global plan and it works fine!! there were reports of that being true in the sprint verison(400) but verizon has the (500) that might be one of the biggest hardware differences!!

btw...what do you mean by version (400 vs 500)? Is that the SIM card version or a hardware version of some kind?

Verizon will only give you an unlock code once every 10 months per account, so they probably wouldn't give it to you every time anyway.

sprint has the 400 hardware and verizon and telus have the 500. will do more research to find out the difference in hardwares!!

edit i did some more research and found this and from what i see the only difference in hardware between the verizon and sprint is verizon`s bluetooth 2.1 vs sprints` 2.0 and that it says that the verizon verizon only allows u to access half the memory!!
