Hotmail email to TP2? How?
 

I have tried numerous times to get my hotmail email on this phone....it simply won't go for some reason.

I go thru the HTC method of putting in the email address and password and then click next, then nothing after that.

Am I doing something wrong? Really need my hotmail emails on the phone.

YEah that is all I did. :-( I have no idea any other way.. other than possibly a hard reset and try.

Windows Live will do everything for you. Atleast it did for me.

I am trying to avoid the hard reset if I can....but am looking at that being the only solution.

have contacts and such backed up just takes a bit to load the custom software (Garmin, CorePlayer, Resco).

Exactly... open up Windows Live, login with your info.. uncheck the option for it to sync your contacts, but check the option to sync email.

After the sync is finished, your mail will appear in the TF3D Mail tab.

But this route doesn't put the emails in the Email tab, correct?

I don't use Windows Live for Live\Hotmail. I have been using Outlook Mobile for at least a year. Here are the setting

POP3: pop3.live.com
SMTP: smtp.live.com
UserID: Needs to be your full email address (joe.blow@live.com)

There is on trick though...Oulook Mobile will redirect you to Windows Live if you enter a Live\Hotmail email address to start with. So, I enter my address, but change temporarily change the server name to something else (joe.blow@live1.com). That way Outlook Mobile does not redirect you. After I finish with the setup, I go back and correct the server name. No problems.

just removed Windows Live and will re-install it and see if that helps.
It wasn't allowing me to open windows live at all.

I have CM Guardian via Task Manager turned to disabled. Would that make a difference?
