Has anyone done that regedit to adjust the # of actual rings before your cell rings?

There was a regedit going around on all the Windows Mobile phones where you could adjust this with a regeditor. Basically it made it so that when a phone calls you, your phone rings right away, instead of how they come out of the box, where Sprint sets them to have it ring like 5x on the other end before your cell phone rings once.

Just wondering if anyone has done this to their Touch Pro 2 yet, or if they know if it is safe or not.

Thanks

Are you referring to the Slot Cycle Index? Which is changed in the EPST not registry?

The Slot Cycle Index should be changed from 2 to 1, and as stated above, it's not in the registry. You need your MSL to edit it. If you set it to negative 1, it will ring before people even call you (j/k)

do you mean the ring profile? the slot cycle index does affect how fast your phone is notified of an incoming call from the tower, but the profile affects how long of a delay before your phone rings once it gets the call. it gives the ui time to update and launch the ringer application.

i dont recall the registry settings for the profile, but i remember that spb phone suite did set the delay for you in their profile switcher. so maybe we can find the answer in their forums...

I havent checked my Sprint TP 2 registry yet, but here is what I found at SPB -

edit the script in HKCU\Control Panel\Sounds\RingTone0\Script and change the value av0pw3r to av0pw0r

you change the w3 to w0

I'd like to know as well. This drove me crazy with my TP and now it does the same thing on my TP2.

WOW! I did a before and after test.

Before it took about 4 rings before my phone started vibrating.

After the registry edit, it vibrated at 1.5 rings!

Thank you much! Worked for me!!!!!!
