Mapopolis on TP2?

Has anyone got Mapopolis to work with the GPS on the TP2? My data plan (old grandfathered "unlimited data plan") doesn't include Sprint navigation. I used it when I needed unplanned navigation on my old Sprint Touch without a problem. On the TP2 it installed fine and runs fine except that it never finds the GPS. The GPS status is stuck on "Checking GPD0:" and finds the GPS (GPS works fine in Google maps and Bing) and I've run Quick GPS.

I know I can use Google Maps or Bing, but I prefer the turn by turn type of navigation provided by Mapoplis and don't want to pay an addition $9.99 per month for Sprint Nav.

Does anyone know how to get Mapoplis to see the GPS on the TP2?

Thanks.

try iGo8. mapopolis has been out of business for several years now and even if you did get it to work, the maps are several years old.

I've had a hard time finding iGo8 for WM but it looks like it is a commercial product (couldn't find a price). I don't want something I need to pay for (could pay for Sprint Navigation if I wanted to do that). Since I already own Mapopolis I would like to try to get it to work if possible (the old maps don't bother me since the places I go haven't changed much).

I had success using Mapopolis on my Verizon TP1 by using the program "GPSGate" to create a com port that Mapopolis could see. I haven't tried it yet with my TP2, but I would guess it would work.

I found the thread here about iGO8 and installed everything. It is truly amazing, Mapopolis is stone age compared to it. Certainly no need for Sprint navigation now!

Thanks for suggesting it.
