Remove Camera Button from TP2
 

Can someone please tell me if there is a way to remove the touch screen camera button from the lower right corner? I would love to replace it with something else, not even sure what, just hate that button there because I always hit it!!

There is :)

It requires a registry edit. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>HTC>Manila

Edit the following keys:
HomeLSKText
HomeRSKPath

And yes, it is HomeRSKPath. It seems as though HTC did this backwards, but editing those two keys, and soft-resetting should do the trick.

i was also annoyed by the camera soft key. i changed it to the comm manager. you can use Advanced Config. to change the softkeys. Also make sure you have net framework 3.5 installed.

When installed, do a soft reset. once back up, go into your programs and look for "advanced config." Once in here go to "menu->more settings->key mapping"

you can go ahead and change what you want the softkeys to be from there.

I can't tell you how many times I hit that camera button by accident before I changed it. Funny thing is, since I've changed it I have not hit that button on accident once lol

yea, it got to the point where my camera was opening up so much....i couldn't deal with it anymore

I installed the two cab files, then soft reset the phone but when I change the Camera button to Phone, or anything, it does nothing, but makes the screen go gray for a split second? Any help? Thank you.

where do you go in advanced config to change the softkeys? ive been wanting to change mine...dont need the phone and lock ones at all lol

Ok, I found that if I get out of TF3D then the left soft key works as I changed it, but in TF3D is just makes the screen go gray for a split second and does nothing? Any thoughts? Thanks,

Ok I found my answer in another thread. You need to point the Left and Right soft keys to what you want the left one to go to but keep the name of the right soft key as All Contacts as that one will not change. I am understanding that this is only the case with the Sprint TP2.
