EVDO Tweaks?

I'm on big red and having some crappy downstream numbers. I'm consistently getting 491 kbi/sec, in all areas of service. Is there any way to improve this? I've seen reports of different tweaks with varying degrees of success.

491 is pretty decent to be honest

you cant compare your downstream to your ACTUAL speed. Im getting a 5.3 mbps connection but only about 700 kbs.

Where are you and what's your average bars?

To add, the average for Verizon is only 900 kbps (For all devices, which is only about 200-300 kbps on stream)

umm, sure you can!
Your connection is 5.3 MegaBITS per second. Your actual stream as you put it is 700 KiloBYTES per second, which works out to 5.6 MegaBITS per second.

As stated above you are getting good speeds. Just remember 8 bits=1 byte. Anytime you get a speed that is in megabits ex:5.6 Mbit/sec you divide by 8, which will give you your MBps, or KBps if you prefer.

5.6 Mbps(Mbit/s) = 5.6/8 =700 KBps or .7MB/s

I'm in Dayton, Ohio (in the actual city). In my house I get about 1-2 bars and at work I get 2-3 bars.
