weak GPS signal?

Anyone noticing weak/no GPS signal in areas where other phones have signal? In my office building testing with Google Maps, my Mogul always had signal (at least 5 connections) but my Sprint TP2 is getting absolutely nothing. I even downloaded a fresh quickGPS data so it'd be easier to locate.

Anyone experience similar cases? Any reason or tweaks I can do to improve? At home, my connection is fine and I am connected to 9 connections right now.

Run QuickGPS from your program menu. Let it download satellite data. You should get incredibly fast locks.

I thought my TP2 had a bad GPS chip, but it was because I forgot to run QuickGPS

+1 on quickgps, but location has alot to do with the GPS fix, like in a building, outside, etc.

Thanks, but like originally said, I ran quickGPS first and then ran Google Maps. quickGPS certainly got me very close to my location, but then I couldn't get a lock. I never used quickGPS on my Mogul and it had easy locks in my building (i'm on the top floor).

How embarrassing... I completely missed the part about QuickGPS! My mistake :drunken:

I would try getting locks in open areas and see if you can get them quickly. It may just be one of those things that can't really be fixed. It SEEMS the TP2 chip is stronger than my TP1 or Mogul, but this relies on how you use it.

I would check to make sure the GPS chip works in normal conditions, though. If you can confirm that, you should be able to narrow down why it doesn't work sometimes.

Thanks...I'll test it around some other buildings and areas and see how it compares.
