What service is good in your area.

We here all know that the tp2 is a great device. Alot of people come here for help and advice and the wrong service provider can deter someone from this great device. So let,s see i'm in St. Louis Mo and I have mine on Sprint. I almost always have evdo coverage and call droppage is min. I,ve had att, t-mobile and verizon,. Verizon is also ok but t-mobile and att i dropped calls constantly and hardly had 3g coverage. Sprint beats out verizon on price though. To me in st louis sprint is the best service as long as you dont have to deal with customer service because you will most likely know more than them. So what service is good in your area.

I live in the bay area, i can say sprint is great over here. Wouldn't make any sense for me to be with another carrier to pay more, when i walk around all day with 4+ bars.

I always thought Sprint and Verizon were pretty equal in Colorado Springs, but then my sister in law (who is also my neighbor) went with Verizon and she gets no signal in or around our houses! Verizon says it's only our neighbor hood that has problems, but she works only 5 miles away and has a rough time getting signal in her business, too. They gave her one of those femtocell thingyz and she gets 2 or 3 bars in the house now.

I'm gonna stick with Sprint.

Here's a yardstick for you:

Capacity-wise, CDMA > GSM.

Area covered per base station, GSM > CDMA.

QoS-wise? Calculate your own from the above statement.

I binged BBM cause I'm dumb and don't know what that is ... I come up with Big Black Man. LOL! So, no, it's just a link to my hubby's band myspace. I've been messing with Quickmark a lot lately. :)

I started with sprint and got good 3g everywhere i go here, only thing is periodically it would switch to 1x, no biggie as it wasnt for too long and mostly stayed evdo...........just switched to tmobile being as the coverage says I have great 3g, well I do, i get 2 to 4 bars of 3g at home and most around the town, stores seem to drop signal down to edge but for the most part im happier with tmobile.......

but i live in Portland Oregon where Any provider gets good reception, att and verizon also do well here, I got many choices...

I have been with Sprint since 2002; and Sprint has the DFW (Dallas-FT. Worth) area covered. I have had ATT & Verizon as well but many dropped calls with dead spots all over.

Seriously, I have been stuck on the elevator and my phone was the only one to work (neither ATT nor Verizon phones worked). I have always been able to send and receive on a closed moving elevator.

I am Sprint er for Life! Love it Man!

Re: What service is good in your area.

I am in the Eastern Rochester NY area & around here Verizon service is MUCH better than either ATT or Sprint.

I had Sprint for two years at one point & had more dropped calls in one week than I get all year on Verizon.

We had a Verizon Corporate account until about six months ago with something like 40 phones on it. The owners Wife decided at that point she absolutely HAD TO HAVE an iphone like all her friends & at that point our owner dropped VZ & switched all the corporate phones to ATT.

We have two buildings on the property where I work. The ATT coverage is so bad that you cannot make/receive a call at all in the building on the rear of our property (the rear building is no more than 100 feet from the main building where the ATT phones work just fine)
