HTC Imagio Rom on VZW TP2???
 
I saw on the Verizon website a week ago that there is a new Phone: the HTC Imagio running Windows Mobile 6.5 with VCAST and Verizon mobile TV...Is there anyone who could dump the Rom on the Imagio so we can use it on our TP2 until we get the official release for the VZW TP2 ROM?


I would love to have VCast and Mobile TV on my Touch Pro 2!!

the TP2 does not have the hardware for the Flo TV stuff. Plus we need the hard spl before we would be able to install the rom. EDIT: And there is alry a thread in the main form about this.

For the sake of discussion, what hardware, exactly, would we be lacking? I thought it would be more of a software limitation...

TP2/Imagio are pretty much such hardware identical. Porting over that rom would be easy but you would probably loose landscape feature in many of the apps.

I read that as it has extra chipset for the mediaflo junk, I could be wrong...

The current belief is the differences are software and not hardware as discussed in the fm radio sticky.

From what I've heard about it it actually has a tuner inside. Special signal back bones of your cell signal to deliver your tv service(vcast). It doesn't just use your data connection to receive the service. Not 100% sure this is correct but it does make sense. Why would Big Red make this exclusive to this device and not all there other WinMo phones.

the kickstand on the imagio is a mobile tv antenna so it would still work on the tp2 but the coverage and quality would be poor

Correct the only difference in that antenna kick stand.
