Re: Does your screen show Rainbow Banding?

I've had three TP2 & none have shown this. I sold one to a friend, and I didn't have that one long. The 2nd one is tester, and it's been fine. The 3rd is my everyday phone, and I've had it since the 1st week Sprint started swapping out the TP1.

I use clear protector on my TP2s, and no banding...FWIW.

Even if the pic was photoshopped (not saying it is) this issue does tend to happen as you can see from this and many other threads.

I've had my TP2 for four months now. I haven't gotten the rainbow effect and I hope I never get it. I did have it happen on two TP1s. Soon after my screens stopped working.

I tend to carry my phones in my pockets, like someone else said, natural habit. Not tryna fubar my phone, but old habits die hard as the saying goes. HTC needs better screens period. As much as we pay for these phones, the screens should be sturdier!

Oh, yeah, my phone did get hot as Hades the other day, so I'm without the two green lights at the top of the keyboard, they are now white...

Re: Does your screen show Rainbow Banding?

That's not photoshopped. I have the same ugly rainbow square on my TP2. Had them on both my TP1s as well.

Natural sunlight hides it pretty well but the rainbow pattern sticks out like a ugly toe under indoor lights.

Its mainly fluorescent lighting. When I was in my dorm and classes during the school year, when I got the banding on two of my phones, it stuck out like crazy. When I would go home to old style bulb lighting or outside, it was practically invisible.

If you think you might have this, or just want to check out of curiosity, put your phone under fluorescent lighting

I find it hard to believe "tight pockets" is the main thing to blame.

No other phone manufacturer has this same problem ...

My pockets are far from tight... I had this phone since its release. Its just odd that it happened now.

Re: Does your screen show Rainbow Banding?

this happens when you rub the screen too hard when cleaning it. too much pressure and maybe heat will cause this...

it happened to my once with me TP and i have been care full since then and it hasnt happened again.

you basically separate the layers of plastic in the screen.

Re: Does your screen show Rainbow Banding?

I had this exact same thing happen, and it happened on my Touch and my Touch Pro. I pinpointed EXACTLY when it happened to mine, and it happened the other day. I was on the phone for about 45 minutes, it got really hot and my face started sweating. It wasn't there before I took the call, and it was there after. Simple as that. Shoulda just used bluetooth.
