I just came back from the Sprint store because I've been having a lot of issues with the phone and they offered me a refurbished TP1, that would be here in a few days. I talked to the insurance company yesterday an they would charge me $100.

I have a TP that falls within the range of the defective chrome flake. Hopefully they will give me a TP2 if there's anything left lol.

I called sprint to try this and I got a lot of run around and call HQ and Got someone to listen to me and talk to tech and he tried to order me one but they said they had don't have none right now. And Could not put me on a list he said he would have to enter it every day till one was there. See I don't live near a Sprint repair center 300+ miles away. so only way to get help is to call got my Mogul upgraded to tp so now im try to get tp upgraded to TP2. But no luck cause they are out. any ideas???

Good question. I didnt think to ask if the atouch apro 2 would be new or refurbished. Doesnt really matter that much to me. A touch pro 2 for a touch pro is a good deal....refurb or not. It hasnt arrived yet....but I will let u guys know if its a refurb or not when I get it. Seems to early to have a bunch of refurbs on hand though.

Lets face the facts here though for a second.....

FACT: It went out of stock so quickly because the policy was abused by TP1 owners to get a free upgrade instead of its actual purpose which was to reduce the amount of exchanges on TP1's for whatever various reasons(a lot of which are valid, like keyboard/screen failure) in legit circumstances.

FACT: The reason the TP2 was on the WEL list for exchanges was to satisfy the customer that NEEDS Windows Mobile, NEEDS the hardware keypad, and UNDERSTANDS what they bought in the first place. Not so that tech heads could get a high end upgrade for free because they wanted it. I also attribute this to idiot technicians that just picked the TP2 for every TP1 that walked in their door without considering other avenues(of which there are quite a few).

FACT: 90% of the people that walk into my store have issues with their TP1 because either a) they dont know anything about windows mobile or the hardware they purchased or b) they had the wrong expectations when they bought it in the first place and have been complaining about the downsides to windows mobile since 2 weeks after their original purpose as if its some mysterious problem that is happening to only them.

Here's a big twist. Just received a NIB TP1 replacement for a two week old TP1 that got it's ESN misplaced. Both of these TP1's had July manufacturing dates with 0 usage.

Also, Sprint is still sending out refurb Moguls. I've had two in the last month including one that came with the same UPS truck the NIB TP1 came in yesterday.

I agree with phantom i bet sprint pulls this policy very soon or at least pulls the TP2 off of the list in e-ticket

Hey guys, I was able to get my TP replaced for a TP2. I called Thursday and told them my phone was having issues (which is true) but I never bothered to replace it because I don't have insurance. The tech said he'd just replace mine with a new TP for free so I was totally cool with that since the phone will at least be working. Well, Friday rolls around and they sent me a Touch Pro 2! Woo!
