Opera - Flash Works

1. Install cabs listed here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...0&postcount=46 (Thanks CovKid66)

2. Run the fixoperaflash.exe. http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/Tw...sh-80818.shtml (Run, "Fix", "Patch", Soft Reset). You might get a warning that Opera is Running, but you can ignore this prompt IF you have installed the cabs listed above.

Flash will now function properly in Opera.

I think this fixoperaflash causes more problems than it solves. Can you mention any flash websites this works with? (other than youtube)

i agree with the causing more issues than it solves. when i had flash installed, opera seemes to run very slow, even on sites that did not have flash. also my phone would heat up a lot when using opera. and sometimes opera would just crash when opening a site with flash. while i was able to get youtube videos to actually load and play, the quality and framerate was so bad it was unusable. because of this experience, i removed flash and will keep it off until major improvements are made. the end redult (slow opera, hot phone, and crashing opera) were not worth the rewards (extremely slow flash response).

My biggest issue was crashing. And 99% of the time, websites say "you must upgrade to Flash 9." Skyfire is the best flash option at the moment.

I agree. I have yet had it work. Have the newest 1.5 version installed, the newest Opera Beta, and NOTHING.

Have tried MULTIPLE times with multiple versions, patches, etc etc and have gotten nothing out of it but a program installed on my device that doesn't work. I've tried to ask aDEO about it and so far nothing. He's told me to attach all my Opera files to see if he can see what the problem is, which may be my only choice. I dont know of anyone who has successfully gotten it to function on the TP2. At least I haven't.

And if someone does, it would be nice to see their step by step as I have messed with it over and over. ](*,)

And dont test YouTube.

Go to a site like I use... PeiWei.com its the other version of P.F. Changs. I dont get that site to pop up and never have.

Re: Opera - Flash Works

I mean, dont get me wrong, I give the guy TONS of credit for trying, and it seems to be on the right path, but something is obviously missing. I may have to get him the files to see what is going on. I see a few updates here and there every week or so hoping it gets fixed, but nothing so far. In fact I dont know what the true problem is. It's odd that we have updated files that still dont work. You would think they may get updated for bug fixes, but the last update was a little more user interface update which is fine IF IT WORKED. That needs to be fixed before anything else is updated on it. So i'll see if I cant get the files he needs to diagnose why it is not working.

Now if it doesn't work, here is the bright side...

Ok, the first site you state, the box will flash on the screen. Now, the trick is to make sure you click the view page directly link in Opera under Google, or it wont work because it is using it as mobile viewing.

Now, tried my link. PeiWei.com (Try that one and see what you get)

And I get .... In order to view this website as intended, you need Flash Player 9+ suppor!

Opera +Flashl = FAIL. slow, freezing problems, and sometimes the need to soft reset device.. I rather use SKyfire which seems to be more reliable with most sites....
