Kill Opera9.exe?

Anyone know how to kill opera9.exe? I've tried task manager, advanced task manager, fdcsoft task manager. No luck. It keeps *automatically* restarting itself.

Thanks in advance!

You need to edit your registryhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2.gif at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Opera\Preload and change the value of “RealExit” from “0” to “1”. This would prevent Opera Mobile’s process from staying memory resident after exiting the application and forcing it to really exit, thus clearing up some memory space.

Note: In case you don’t have this registry hierarchy, create it. RealExit should be DWord.
Note 2: If you're not into Registry editing, you can simply install this cab that will do the work for you.

Did not work. The OperaL.exe process starts again and Opera.9.exe shows up as a process. What a PITA!

Re: Kill Opera9.exe?

BTW: The reason I am trying to kill Opera9.exe is to attempt to install Flash inside of Opera using fixOperaFlash.exe.

That link will fix the reason that Opera keeps restarting unless you've already disabled push internet. Even after push internet is disabled though, it may still keep it in memory, so using those two cabs should fix it so that you can install the flash fix.

Thanks!!! It seems to work, but I still get the warning that Opera is running while attempting to install the flash fix. STRANGE!

Update: Flash IS working!
