cant be the 1% battery feature thats causing this. its been on the old tweaks and i have been using the old tweaks since day one and i did not notice any increased battery drain. i would look into other software you use and/or reg tweaks that may be the culprit... making a blanket statement about the battery feature is not valid. with all due respect of course! ;-)

What is the difference in the three sprint cabs?
1. Sprint tweaks first
2. Sprint cleanup fourth
3. Sprint Tweaks fifth

The first sprint tweaks is for 6.1?
The correct order of installation for 6.5 is:
Clear Storage / Hard Reset then,
2. Sprint Cleanup fourth
3. Sprint Tweaks fifth

Can someone please confirm?
Thanks,

I hear ya,
but I noticed the same thing. My battery life was better in 6.1 prior to that tweak and 6.5 has been running good without. I too fear it will get worse once I install the tweak.
For what its worth, I run atleast 2 weeks with nothing installed except for the tweaks just to test it.

Just a comparison

I have exchange email, 20-50 texts a day 6.1 (after tweaks) I'd be getting my battery dying notifications around 8-10 hours.

On 6.5 with my location turned on for weather every hour, exchange on, same amount of text, I go easily 14-16 hours if not more.

Hey thanks again. Quick question is there a way to increase the # of tabs available for opera in the windows 6.5 version. I get stuck at three and it says the number for 5 is only for the 6.1 version.

Here is i how i did it:
open opera, in the address write "opera:config" scroll down to "user pref", click on it and scroll down till you find " Max number of tabs"...change it to the number you like....and restart opera....thats it...it worked for me..

Also, i found that the flash lite instller on XDA has it in its exe as an option.

Thanks GoodThings2Life again for all your hard work. I rather keep on using your tweaks.cab than to unlock\flash custom roms. Installed your tweak.cab last night and its been working flawlessly.

With all due respect... I GUARANTEE that's whats causing it. Because it happened before on 6.1. Battery was dying like crazy. So I read somewhere that was a cause. I took it off, and WHAM... fixed. No battery drain.

Plus, I have NO software loaded yet. I just did a hard reset to run the cleanup tab, so nothing else could be causing it.

Interesting, the %1 battery feature alleged to increase battery drain? I guess its plausible if you think about it, its polling the battery more frequently for its charge status thus increasing consumption, right? However, I'm not sure it even works like this, it may just be a tweak to allow it to report more specific status without increasing charge polling frequency. Still, this is news to me.

Can you post links to discussions or threads that validate this in any way?

PROGRAM ICONS CHANGED ?? lower resolution?

GoodThings2Life: Does this Cleanup .cab change some of the icons for certain things. I'm pretty sure I noticed this but I didnt spend much time with the original before I applied the cab. For instance, the Text Messaging program icon (not referring to the slider Tab) has changed? Its an envelope, it was different before, wasn't it?

The only downside to this is that when you place one of these programs with an older icon on the Home screen it gets blown up and looks like crap (Text Message envelope has jaggies, pixelation). However, some of the newer icons are redone with better resolution and look better in larger size on the home screen (for example, File Explorer icon).

Am I just imaging this here or did some program icons get changed? What was the change for? The stock Sprint 6.5 icons actually look better if you happen to use them stickied on your Home Tab. Any chance of getting a cab that will restore these previous icons?

I too noticed something anecdotally with the 6.1 tweaks reducing battery range. But I installed some countermeasures cab/tweaks such as no-push mail & battery polling that up my battery life to very impressive heights.

This is not a condemnation of your theory about G2L tweaks..just merely stating that there could be other factors playing here.

This functionality is completely unreliable judging by the many threads and posts on the topic throughout the forums. It is NOT related to my tweaks package.

Confirmed. Seems to be an incompatibility in no2chem's 1.2 edition of the nuePower control panel applet. Unfortunately, it's the newest/only version available, so unless he issues a fix, I recommend sticking with the traditional Power applet instead.

Thanks for the update. I also have this problem regardless of whether I use my packages or not. Unfortunately, good luck ever seeing a proper fix. My recommendations... suck it up and deal with it. It's not a battery drain, and it's actually helpful.

I realize that I need to update some documentation, but come guys, READ THE FIRST POST CAREFULLY! It's all in there, in English!

You only need TWEAKS OR CLEANUP, not both! You need WM65 for Windows Mobile 6.5... or the other files for the appropriate carriers with Windows Mobile 6.1.

All of that is explained in the post if you bother to read (and I'm not picking on you personally, several people have asked).

You can't judge battery life in the first few days of flashing a new ROM, because you are impressed by the new features and thus playing with it more which keeps the display and radios on which drains battery. That's just a simple fact.

Just a comparison, I am also in the 20-50 texts per day category with emails for TWO accounts syncing every half hour. Plus "services" like weather syncing every hour. Plus about a half hour of calls. I take my phone off the charger every morning at 7:30am and it's currently 7:30PM and I'm sitting at 65%, and today I was in a known weak signal area all day. On a normal day I'm sitting at around 75% in good signal conditions and the same usage.

As said by Spock... I'm sorry, but you're wrong. It is NOT the driver. no2chem has indicated that in the upper 15% the results are often sporadic, but beyond that it is simply not possible to be causing a drain. You can compare results using the Power & Battery control panel applet (although be aware there IS a bug where it will freeze the phone after you click OK to be done with it... sorry, not my fault on that one). The discharge being high can be caused by any number of factors, but mine in a good signal area is 150mAh. That's a pretty good number and very much consistent with my daily usage. That's down from 210mAh with WM6.1.

That said, I'm not going to argue about it. I am not removing the battery driver. It has worked great for over 2 years now (TP1 and TP2) so either you like it that way, or you don't use it. Not trying to be a jerk, but I'm not going to stand by and let inaccurate information be distributed.

Could you replace the cellular placement of the program files in the start button listing with an alphabetical list (like the one if you select your programs for the quick start icons)?

The new cellular structure is not only very confusing but makes it very difficult to locate the right program.

Since the 6.5 places your quick launch icons in part on your main screen, the start button should lead to a full list of programs.

GT2L, I find it completely comforting that others want a WM6.1 or Modified Manila menu

While the nueControl panel for the power doesnt work, dont remove the driver, if you have issues with the driver consult MightyMike as he has had it in all his roms without issues.

Also a big SG fan, SG/SG:A/SG:U, normally I do the same (ship names) with SciFi shows (to include Anime, its just SciFi drawn out :D )

I plan to wait a bit, just want to see how changes pan out, nothing on you, but I dont want to HardReset so often... Need to find a good EMU...

EDIT: also MightyMike said that CMGuardian wasnt the only thing preventing Stealth Tether, and that it would revert on each soft reset, just thought you might want to ask what he had to to, so you can add it/fix it, in your package

I don't plan on removing the driver. I'll look into a version of the control panel applet that doesn't lock up... maybe Mike has one. As for CMGuardian, I have checked and it's definitely disabled.

Since Mike did a thread cleanup, you will need to ask him GT2L, he said that simply disabling CMGuardian was no longer enough, he said Sprint did something that made a secondary way to make sure stealth tethering be disabled after each reset, I guess it took him quite a bit of time to figure it out to make sure it was 100% disabled...

OMFG, enough! I'm not stupid. It freaking works. I've tested it after 8 consecutive resets.

It's not rocket science. You disable the service, you delete the Startup shortcut, and you configure the registry entries for ICS. This is not my first barbecue!

I'd love to. Got any suggestions of how to accomplish this? :)

You know the inside of the ROM better as I do but the menu in question needs to be hidden in the registration.

I don't know if you have a way of looking at the list populated by sence and replicate it again. I am not sure but is sence not mapping the installed programs and icons somewhere? How about copypasta from the old 6.1 ROM?

OMFG, enough! I'm not stupid. It freaking works. I've tested it after 8 consecutive resets.

It's not rocket science. You disable the service, you delete the Startup shortcut, and you configure the registry entries for ICS. This is not my first barbecue!

Come on people don't piss the man off, he's done a great job with his cleanup.

Verizon tweaks are posted now... although my testing on them is very limited, so please be aware that you may experience some weirdness with it. I'll deal with the issues as best I can.
