Why does my TP2's backlight keep coming on?

I'm new to HTC so maybe this is a known thing but my Sprint TP2 tends to "wake up" on its own...I keep thinking it is going to alert me with an email or text message but nothing happens...the screen just goes on and off every few minutes...not the best thing when trying to conserve battery...

Every HTC device I have ever had on Sprint has done this.

My mogul would light up a 2-something in the morning everytime (maybe 4 something) same time everytime.

Make sure you don't have any magnetic stuff near by, electric motors, case holsters, speakers.

go to phone settings and uncheck time syncronization, this worked on my touch and touch pro.this is making the phone wake up and sync time with a tower i think

If you are moving, it is because it goes into Roaming, even for a second or 2. Well documented

Yeah I emailed HTC about this and asked if there was any kind of setting in the reg to disable this......they told me to kindly F off and they dont support any reg edits at all.

I believe it can also happen with dropping from EVDO to 1x.
Lots of winmo phones do it. Just have to get used to it.
