Sprint Touch Pro 2 sim unlock
 

I just bought a brand new sprint touch pro 2 but I'm looking to use it on GSM US network. I do know that it's sim unlocked and it can be used with any GSM carrier except for US GSM carriers. I know there's currently no unlock code or app for CDMA tp2. I want to know if the phone is missing the hardware to use with GSM US carriers or is it just locked with software and if it's possible to sim unlock it in the future.

As of right now I don't think anyone knows. The telus version and the verizon version has already been proven to work with local gsm carriers once you use the unlock code but this is not the case with sprint. So based on that some people are saying it may be hardware but only time will tell.

From what I have read in the forum. It is already unlocked, but does not work with any US GSM Carriers. But will work abroad. Read in the forum, you will see it. It has been tested by some members who traveled out the country and it worked well for them.

If you read the original post, you would be aware of the fact that the op already knew that.



In all honesty, it might even be as simple as a reflash, it might even be the sprint rom blocking the GSM but at this point, nothing is certain.

Thanks everyone for replying. I'm going to sell this phone because it has no use for me in the states and I'm not sure how long I have to wait before it can be unlock. It's perfect for someone who lives outside the US. I'm willing to sell it for a low price if anyone is interested. I will also accept trade for a TELUS touch pro 2 and also give you $100 cash with the phone. Here's my listing on xda.
