Considering I've had the TP, G1(Hero's predecessor), and now TP2, if your a heavy texter 8/10 people type faster with a physical keyboard then a digital one, plus like others said, screen size, and its just so sexy, its pretty much having an CDMA HTC Touch HD with a full qwerty keyboard and a 3.2MP camera instead of the 5MP.

Well posting on the TP2 boards would obviously lean more towards TP2..BUT

look at this..if you've seen the TP2 keyboard..it is MUCH BETTER then the previous gen keyboards

Next is the resolution..the Hero has a 320x480 resolution while TP2 has a 480X800..that makes a world of difference for anything you do.

Asides from android, the Hero really has nothing to it..The TP2 touch pro interface is pretty good at keeping you off using the WM UI stuff and HTC plans to release Sense UI for WM as well in the future.

Yall are really selling me on the tp2. But has anybody else actually handled the hero and/or likes or prefers the android os? And there's really that much between the tp and tp2?

And I read something about the hero's processor might not be strong enough to handle the os, is this tru?

Hero is looking very good. Im a verizon customer and always will be therefore id recommend the Touch Pro 2. Phones without qwerty key boards bug me. People either mistake them for the iPhone or bring up the iPhone when I pull it out lol. Everything>Windows Touch Pro 2 is the way to go...

My last device was the XV6800 and I recently upgraded to the Touch Pro 2. When my new every 2 came up I was sorely tempted to wait for the Samsung Omnia 2 with it's 3.7 in amoled screen, 8gb memory and 5 mega-pixel camera or the Imagio (Whitestone).

The deciding factor for me though was the keyboard on the Touch Pro 2 because even though I use the virtual keyboard 85% of the time I found constantly tapping on the screen can get tedious with long e-mails.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

As I said, I've used both devices. I do like Android, but I just prefer WinMo. I would say that Android is a little more user friendly. I even tell customers, "WinMo isnt generally user friendly, and takes some getting used to. Ive had 3 WinMo phones and I still find things 3 years later that I never knew it could do" Yes thats an actual quote I say when customers ask what phone they should buy :|
