How would you rate the battery life on your TP2?
 

I have the Sprint CDMA model and the battery is lasting me all day with plenty of power to spare. I rate myself a moderate user when it comes to texting and send & receive about 50-60 emails daily. I also use Opera and surf the internet 2-3 times daily.

In comparison to all my other Smart Phones (Omnia, i760, 6700) my TP2 is alot better. I can go about 2 days with moderate usage pretty easily (2.5 days til power off). All my other phones would die at 1.5 days at most.

My Sprint TP was rediculous with battery life, halfway through the day it was dead... My Tmobile TP2 usually lasts a day and half now.

I use web browsing, YouTube and text like a crazy woman. I am also constantly connected to my companies exchange server from 6am - 9PM so active sync is hitting all day.
I rarely used the phone on my TP and rarely use the phone on my TP2.

I get great battery life, but always wondered if people are just PERCEIVING their battery life to be lower now that they can see it in 1% increments

i was able to see 1% increments on the tp1 and mogul and i can say by far the tp2 is the best. the tp1 wouldnnt last half a day. i never left home without 2 spare batteries in the glove compartment. i am a heavy user and i always end up using 1 of those batteries. now i can make it a whole day on 1 battery, so for sure its better not a mind trick

It is way great! I can go all day and then some and never think about it once. I even spend about an hour or two a day using it as the wifi router...tons of calls and text and email...and qik..love it

Considering how craptacular the tp1 was I will have to go with excellent for the tp2 considering it essentially the same hardware for the most part.

My battery sucks but i have to believe thats its either something i installed or Opera since it was great when i first got the phone. Easily lasted at least a day and a half. Now my battery drops 10% in ten minutes. It could be the three email accounts that i have set to check for mail every 10 minutes.

lol yup that's prob it.
i was getting 24hrs at first, but now i have 6 emails accounts (1 being push mail). i get about 12 hrs now with medium-heavy usage.

I am a HEAVY TP2 user!!!! I am on the net like at least 10 times a day for about 15 minutes minimum! I make at least 10 calls a day varying in length, I text like crazy, and have 4 pushing emails set at 2hrs push. I run my biz off this device, so far I don't have nay complaints about it. I usually have it charging all night, then have to start recharging at about 4-5 pm.... so to me, it lasts awhile. Only 1 day did I not use my TP2 at all and didn't recharge it that night either just to see, the next morning, I had 80% left, so I think it is GREAT!!!!

man, i'm starting to worry about my tp2. the battery life seems to be horrible. i took it off the charger at 11 this morning and then had it hooked up to my computer for maybe half an hour. had 1 two minute conversation, maybe sent and received 4 texts and browsed the web for 10 minutes at most, the rest of the time has been on standby and i'm at about 50%. i have push internet off, no automatic updates of any sort, and running at about 47% memory usage with no programs running.

i always thought that the battery life just wasnt that good on it, but all of you are saying its really good. my mogul could last 2 days+ easy with no charge and i bet my tp2 would only last 24 hours tops with extremely minimal usage. could there be something wrong with my device?

If I could get my phone to stop turning on every 2 minutes by itself battery life would probably be much better. With no background programs running I can lose 50 percent of my battery life at times by just leaving the phone idle for a few hours because of this. This has always been an issue with HTC WM phones on Sprint. Thought they'd have found a fix by now.

I thought mine was good until the last couple of days...I had 2 bars about an hour ago and now all of a sudden it is telling me to charge the battery...it took 11 hours to go from 100% to 50%...is it possible to walk into a Sprint store and get a battery replacement?

Does the tp2 have the issue of gettin very hot real quick while on the phone like the tp1? I got my tp1 back in feb and battery life on it sucks Im thinkin bout switchin to the tp2 this december with my upgrade

If a device like the TP2 can go 18 hours without a charge that's enough for me. My Titan struggled, but the TP2 does it easily. I see no reason not to charge your phone while you're asleep. So if it can make it thru all the hours I'm awake with heavy usage, then I'd say it's great.

So far this phone lasts a lot longer than my Mogul does. I can usually go all day without going under 40%. Thats working 12 hour shifts with a lot of web browsing. Yesterday was the first day I had to plug it in at work. Was doing a lot of browsing, some video on Skyfire, and played with SPB MS 3.5 for quite a while. Will see how it goes today.

I think it's much improved over the TP1. I'm looking forward to the 6.5 upgrade... we "should" get even more improvement. Just my hopes though.

I'm getting a replacement TP2 because the phone buttons (especially the end call button) starting coming loose. Any slight pressure at the top of the buttons will cause them to lift up at the bottom. (I haven't seen anyone else report this problem though.) We'll see how the battery is my next TP2 holds up.

no it will get a little warm every now and then but doesnt get hot like my tp1 used to get.

The problem with my TP2 is loosing 20% of batt power overnight, as soon as i get home i plug it to the charger until is time for bed which is usually around 11pm when i wake up in the morning at 7am the battery is down to 82% what gives?

Nope, no e-mail accounts and no push internet pages. what i have notice a few times when the device is being charge the screen would wake up like if a call or txt was being received. may be it happens over night and thats how the batt drains.

Cant say that im impressed by the battery life. This morning I took it off the charger at 730am, and the battery is already down to about 70%, ive watched 20mins of youtube videos, read my RSS feed for about 20minutes, sent 5 txts, and made 30 mins worth of phone calls....I dont think its going to make it the rest of my day... This is my first smartphone so im not sure if that is considered heavy use.

everyone's answer is going to be different if you just ask, how do you like your battery? But if you notice everyone who agrees is people who have had previous smartphones. All of those people including myself will tell you the battery life is excellent because its true it is, the tp2 battery life is better then the tp1 and mogul hands down. So anybody coming from those phones will say its the best battery ever. Now someone coming from a regular phone or blackberry will say the battery life sucks, well thats because they are coming from a regular phone to a phone that has full touch srceen capabilities so there experience is going to be different, so they will probably say the battery life sucks. So to sum it up, the tp2 battery will last much longer then the mogul battery or tp1 battery.

thats exactly what i was thinking right before i read this post........

My thoughts having a touch, touch diamond and touch pro, its atleast twice as good....

Im a heavy user, mainy internet all day with a few text and calls, but when i say heavy, i mean on nonstop being used.. That being said my tp1 would die after 3.5 to 4 hours of nonstop internet usage, refreshing, downloading, reading etc... The same on my tp2 but i get about 10 hours of straight use, after 5 hours i usually am down to 55%....

Now, ive moderatly used it and wow the thing will easily last 1.5 days......

Id say hands down my tp2 smashes my old ppcs/smartphones...

I wached 3 movies at work and still had 30 % after 10 hour shift...

Why don't you simply turn it off at night when you charge it? Unless you are a sleep walker there is no reason to leave it on.

Now I wouldnt say that the battery life sucks, but 4hrs of device usage isnt something to be thrilled about.
