first time I've ever heard anybody say that was a bad thing........

You aren't required to update by the way, I have used PS from about a year & a half & it is not buggy at all at this point.

I'm not even sure what version they are on now, my version works so well I don't even bother to check for updates anymore........(the latest versions weren't bug fixes anyway, they where adding new features)

I'm confused too about what carrier he has. Don't tell me he has a Sprint Touch Pro II on VZW???? I'm so done with that headache. I do use the lock because it's simple and some what effective. I did wake my phone up once and it let me go to several screens before locking me out again. Might be a problem if it dials someone before it locks. Apparently when you lock it and it goes to sleep, the phone doesn't wake up locked all the time. Kinda like when the time catches up after being a sleep. It takes a moment for the phone to remember it was locked.

Have you tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=386451

I just tried it a few days ago and I am much happier than what was on Sprint. I have only used it for a few days, but it seems very good and has not crashed my phone as of yet and it has a lot of options.

unfortunately, it does NOT prevent the screen from staying on when the phone does wake on incoming SMS, and is in your pocket. Tested this many times... with screen lock on, you cant trigger anything, but the screen will stay on as long as something keeps contacting it.

Didn't say it was perfect. It does what I want.

The Sprint doesn't have any screen locking mechanism other then the power button. Which is fine for turning the screen off. What I like on the Verizon phone is that there is a ScreenLocking app (from older Windows Mobile builds, updated) that prevents anything on the screen from being pressed. As a previous poster said, the screen may stay on, but at least I'm not accidentally hitting buttons I don't want to.

I am currently on both. Long story, but I am about to end my tenure with Verizon. I started a contract with Sprint and I am using the 30 day guarantee to use the phones side-by-side. Once I'm satisfied with the testing I'll make my final decision about what carrier I choose. I'm leaning towards still going to Sprint. Half the price and no noticeable difference in data/voice either way. Sprint actually is a little better in North East Indiana.

Good thing for you. I've personally had nothing but problems. I guess all the bugs find me. Everything from a registered copy popping up trial notices, to background screens popping up, to notifications not showing, or the app locking my phone up all-together. There are major issues with how they implement G-Sensor control as well. They give you a box to control whether to use it, but then they install by default a registry key that forces it on. Which makes accessing the phone in an upright position (triggers the phone to lock) in a car an absolute pain in the ***.

The latest versions added features but they've had more then 2 dozen revisions to correct previous bugs. I beta tested the new version 3 series as well.

Like I said, great product, just too many bugs have found me. Doesn't mean they found everyone else. Could be something I'm doing, but when I report it, they seem to fix it pretty quick.

I'm on both for a short period. I'm moving from Verizon to Sprint given Sprint voice/data hold up. So, I get both phones side-by-side.

I actually had the same problem you did. I also had nueDynamicClock installed. After uninstall this, problem went away, along with the random lockups and device crashes. My guess is that nueDynamicClock stole focus from the Lock app and was too slow to wake up and that's what was causing the problem. To be honest, on the TP2 I have seen no difference in battery life with nueDC uninstalled.

There is something really wrong with that app and the TP2 on Verizon. I haven't had a chance to test it on Sprint yet, but I'm assuming that it could react the same.

Haven't tried. May look into it.

What do you mean "what was on Sprint". I've got the Sprint TP2 and I can not find any kind of locking mechanism. Where did you find it??? You do realize this is a Touch Pro 2 (TWO) forum right? I'm assuming you are still on a Touch Pro from your info??? I think you're confusing the two devices.

I'm on sprint and if I hold the end key down it will lock the device. I don't really use this feature, but it's there.

The Sprint version does have the default WinMo lock, it just doesn't come assigned to anything by default. You have to set it in the button preferences to a long press of the end key.
