Preventing Sleep

I am having an issue with the device sleeping when running certain applications and it is annoying.

Google maps for instance or streaming video.
The screen will dim and sleep.

Is there an app or way to specify that certain apps don't cause the device to sleep?

Have you gone to Start>Settings>All Settings (bottom left of screen)>Personal Tab there you will find POWER. In there you can change the time it takes to go to sleep for your phone.

That really won't help. For example I am in my car and I have mapping software running having the device sleep even after 5 minutes is still an issue.

I swear there was an app to control device sleep if you added certain executables to an exclusion list.
