Sprint TP2: what does “CDMA only" do?

I noticed my Sprint TP2 only shows 1X and has trouble getting data service when switched from Global to "CDMA only". When switching back to Global, EVDO works nicely. I wonder what's going on with this CDMA mode then?

I'm not sure what the issue is on yours, I've had mine on CDMA only since shortly after I got the phone and haven't had issues.

It shouldn't have any effect on 1X/EV.. all it does is disable GSM roaming.
