Severe Battery drain issues

1 Attachment(s)
I got my phone this friday and already am seeing terrible battery life.. The phone is constantly overheating and the led is flashing between red/green anytime its on the charger.. I just did a hard reset to make sure it wasnt something i installed. The only thing i have installed is acbPowerMonitor and nopushinternet cab. I am at 41% mem usage. Here are the results of approx 7 hours of idling while on the charger. The phone was not touched because i was sleeping. The phone had 5 bars all night and still does as i type this. Below are the results from acbPowerMonitor. The large peak is from a phone call that i missed and the end is when i woke up and grabbed the phone... What is concerning to me is that its averaging 406mA drain.. Wouldnt this put me at roughly 3-4 hours of idle time? This is with Sprint

I dont know what to do, any suggestions?

Mine sitting on my desk is currently using just over 200mA. I have the backlight set to auto and almost nothing running, no data connection (wifi/evdo/1x).

u only get 3-4hrs idling? send it back. you should get 20-24 hours just idling... unless using exchange, other emails and other progs that use up resources... then it probably drops to 16hrs

My only suggestion would be take it to a repair center and have them test out the battery. Or while you wait since its sunday let the phone die competely, then DON"T charge it yet, and power the device on. It should soon die. Do it again and again until the phone doesn't turn on at all then CHARGE THE BATTERY UNTIL ITS FULL. Don't even turn the phone on until the charge is complete. After its done run the acbPowerMonitor program and see how it runs. That way you recalibrate the battery. When I first get my phones or even my laptop I NEVER charge the battery right away. Its a new battery and only has halflife basically. I ALWAYS just pop the battery in and just use it until it dies and then I do what I said earlier so I can get the full life of the battery.

Hard reset and leave it stock for a day, see what happens. Maybe abcpowermeter is causing something

it did this straight out of the box, i hard reset and disabled push and installed the powermeter

theres something thats causing constant drain and i cant figure out what..all services are off.. the phone gets hot and constantly stops charging and the overheat indicator begins.. i think i may be headed towards a replacement

DO a hard reset. Then monitor the drain. If its better then its something you installed. Alot of times when you dont kill PIE or Opera or Skyfire.. they tend to pull data of the next and drain the battery.
