Hell, on idle not doing anything it should last well past 24hrs, easily.

Yup, should last 72 hours really. Maybe slightly more.

Re: Severe Battery drain issues

Well for what its worth, mine never gets "hot", even with heavy use (long phone call, lots of internet browsing), only time it was close was when I watched a tv show via video out, with it charging at the same time, and I would still only consider that "warm".

I wish it would get warm, it gets hot so quickly, im in Arizona and i know what hot is.. imagine the phone sitting outside in the sun for 40 minutes when its 105 out.. thatshow how it feels.. if im charging and on the phone, within 15 minutes it will heat up to the point where it will no longer charge.. my TP did this and i hated it, now im dealing with a TP2 with the same issue!

FWIW, i just hard reset again, the only installed software is the battery meter. I will know more by the end of the day.

p.s i dont use TF3D either, i rock winmo default.

Yeah I would say something is physically wrong.
But, I would suggest not using the abcpowermeter so that when you take it back they see no programs installed, first thing they'll do when they see that program on there is say, "Oh we need to reset to make sure this program isnt interfering". I had a similar problem on my mogul with the keyboard key sticking, they said it was because I had the voice record button remapped, they hard-reset gave it back to me and told me to come back the next day (turned out it was a piece of debris under the keyboard).

Anyway the default battery setting plugin has a tab that shows time since last full charge, talk time, standby etc... It should be good enough to determine if its effed.

Thats the best test you can do to narrow down if its a hardware issue. Now that you did do a hard reset... report back on your finding.

I don't have a problem using S2U2. I have it constantly on. I pulled my phone off the charger @ 10 AM this morning. After a full day of push email, some NFL network (sprint TV), MP3 listening @ the gym, and S2U2 on all the time....it is now 11:00pm and I am still @ 53% battery remaining. I say stick with S2U2....I am.

Re: Severe Battery drain issues

Quick update to you all, my phone severely overheated today when i was talking on the phone. The phone died and will not boot up anymore. It will show the TP2 logo, then show the rom/radio version and then fade away and turn itself back on in about 2 minutes and it will loop. Its been looping for about an hour now..

I am able to hard reset, which i did do but it made no difference. I had no software installed before it failed. Infact, i didnt even bother sync'ing my contacts this time around

sucks.

i will post in the morning to see if it bothered to turn itself on
