I didn't have to run QuickGPS to get mine going. I turned on location, told google maps to use GPS and it locked on instantly.

I have the Verizon TP2. GPS works fine. After installing Google Maps, all I did was go to the Settings tab, then select All Settings at the bottom left. Once in the WM settings menus, go to the Personal tab, select Phone, then select the CDMA tab. Tap Location Settings then tap the Get Settings... button at the lower right of the screen. In the next sreen, select the Location On button and tap OK. Done. Run Google Maps. You should get a lock in a few seconds. I tried it indoors tonite and it locked almost instantaneously. Awesome!

You don't have to run QuickGPS to get it working, but it's a much easier way to do so than going to the phone settings to change it. Plus, if you run QuickGPS, you may get faster GPS locks than if you didn't use it, so there is an added benefit of doing it that way.

Ran quick GPS first thing out of the box after installing google maps cab. It asked if I wanted to activate location awareness, dl'd the GPS locations, and google maps found me in less than 5 seconds after clicking Use GPS.

Was literally the first thing I checked when I got my phone, I was curious if Verizon would make the same boneheaded mistake in a misguided attempt to sell navigator again.

They did not. Verizon is slowly moving up in my world, the customer service has gotten better, and they finally got the TP2. Woot?

Has anyone had a challenge with the GPS working 'most of the time'? It seems when I really need it to work, it can't find any satellites at all. lol

all is on... in fact it just started working... I made no changes but didn't work all day... lol ... any ideas why that would be?
