Why can't I install a battery meter that doesn't mess up my speaker icon?

I have a Verizon TP2, and installed sdkcerts.cab and FInixNOverBatteryIconsOnly.cab. Yes, I now have a battery meter that shows actual percent (for example, 10%), but my speaker is just a black square, and other times there are lines through it. Can someone tell me exactly what to download that won't mess up the speaker icon?

Sounds like the taskbar has an older version of the HTC control driver. Try poping this one into your windows folder with total commander. It is the driver from our phone I have updated with Tsowns icon.

You may will need to go to your windows folder first and add .bak to the old driver then soft reset and then add this one and soft reset again. then you can delete the .bak driver.

Try a different task bar. Do you want actual percent numbers on the screen or just a meter/bar/guage? I have this installed: http://freewareppc.com/utilities/batti.shtml
