Re: Make the bottom hardware key lights stay on longer?

Not a bad idea. The other night I kept pressing the window button when I was trying to open up the dial pad. I think it should atleast light up when you wake up the phone. You have to physically hit a button to make them light up.

Re: Make the bottom hardware key lights stay on longer?

Keeping on the bottom lights as long as the screen is on has been done for the HD2 device. Check it out by searching for "force HD2 to backlit buttons" on xda. Hopefully someone will give us a way to do it on the TP2. (fingers crossed)

Not sure if it works for the Rhodium.

Re: Make the bottom hardware key lights stay on longer?

It looks like we may have something here: (for Rhodium - tp2)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=605731

There is some issue though - is it that the lights now stay on all the time? - if anyone tries it - please post here

Re: Make the bottom hardware key lights stay on longer?

No takers? Ha ha. Alright, I'll try it...

Ok, I've installed it. First impressions: it works. And if you turn the device off as per usual, the lights go off with the power button. However...

One caveat (as per the disclaimer on XDA): if the device goes to sleep itself (ie. after 1 min of activity or whatever you've set that to) the lights DO stay on. This is a pain. For instance, if you get a text message while the device is in your pocket and you don't notice it, those lights will stay on till you do. I would assume this would have an adverse effect on your battery life.

So it's not ready yet. Let's hope NetRipper keeps working at it. I'll post this over at XDA too so he knows we're interested.

_______

Hit "THANKS!" if I've helped ya. Merry Christmas!
