Media Player stopping when phone sleeps?
 

so I listen to this internet radio station my car as i drive through the aux port in my car's stereo. well, now with the new tp2 after a few minutes as the phone enters sleep mode it stops my radio station being played on windows mobile media player. It will turn on if I turn the phone back on. Anyone know a cab or tweek to fix this? it is driving me insane.

I have a similar problem that is driving me crazy. My telus TP2 will not shut of the screen (only dims it) when playing music with TF3D. Is there a hack to turn off the screen. When I use the display off button my music also turns off like tjhooker74.

I could do that with my diamond no problems.

OK, I have never done a tweek. I have unlocked and relocked the tp1, changed roms, changed radios and installed many cabs but I have never done an editing tweek. How do I do it?

You need to install a registry editor. I like PHM RegEdit HERE
Then open the registry editor and navigate to that location and change the value to 0. Be careful not to accidentally change anything else while you're editing the registry.

You may need to soft reset to apply the change.

(I haven't done this tweak, so I don't know if it works)

this is a well known edit for windows mobile phones. It's posted all over the place and i've used it on the few different htc phones i've had over the years. no testing needed. it works.

Wouldn't it be better to go under the Battery settings and have the phone never go to sleep mode while you using the radio? after you done with the radio change it back to normal.

but your battery will last longer with the screen off.

i am very familar with this reg edit, and I can say it doesnt work on the tmobile tp2.........soft reseted and nothing, value didnt change back either its still at 0....

hey dragon2...what's up man.
it's not suppose to be 1. you have to change it to 0. let me know if that works. Seems strange that it works for so many windows mobile phone, but not the tmobile tp2.

hmmm...i wonder what's goin on here; (only working for some). maybe it's conflicting with a third party screen lock program or something. It works for me on everything i've tried...tcpmp, pandora, windows media player, core player...

hmmm, thats strange. Not working on my wifes TP2 either... Must be a tmobile thing or like ya said apps ive/weve installed....

I'm with Sprint and didn't have a third party screen lock program installed. Changing the value to 0 and performing a soft reset didn't work for me.

not sure if you're familiar with doing regedits, but sometimes you have to wait a minute before you do a soft reset. Also, i've never had to do a soft reset after doing this paticular regedit. It just starts working right away. What media player are you testing this with?

Confirmed it does not work on the VZW TP2. Worked fine on my old Touch Pro.

i just checked on mine and it does not work in tf3d music tab, but it works with every other media player.

can you force the phone to sleep and the music will still play?

another thing i do is under buttons tab on the bottom i set "toggle screen" to a button and that works.

yea. it works regardless if you let it automatically sleep, or you push the sleep button
