Soft reset button?
tried the search.. how do u reset this thing??
just got it today, bare with me.. |
Re: Soft reset button?
You have to take off the battery cover to get to the button
|
Re: Soft reset button?
oh how lame.. thanks
|
Re: Soft reset button?
If taking off the battery cover gets annoying, just hold down the end key to shut the phone off and then hit it again to turn it on. As far as I know it performs a soft reset when powering up again.

wow... I must be typing slow today!
Nevermind... |
Re: Soft reset button?
OF course if the phone is truly locked up then the power button won't work. I think they were being a bit optimistic by hiding the reset button. Win Mo is not that stable. No OS is really. I've had to soft reset it by the button at least 3x now. I am probably going to drill a pinhole thru the battery cover and my Seidio case when I get one for it, because taking off the case, just to soft reset is going to get old fast, if it doesn't break the case. A needle/paperclip sized hole would be sufficient

Soft reset Hold down the end key till the device powers off, then hit the end key to start your phone. You can also hit the reset button under the battery cover. Hard reset Hold down the end key till the device powers off, then hold volume down, send and end till you see blue text. Follow hard reset prompts. Security Hold down the end key till the device powers off, hold vol down and end to get to security(rainbow screen). |
Re: Soft reset button?
You can also hold the powerbutton untill power off shows up, then power it back up if u dont want to take the cover off. This what i resort to.

Re: Soft reset button?
i would just use the power button.... i wouldn't worry about the phone locking up. i haven't use that reset button yet, and i've had the phone since day one... even when the lock up, who cares? just cross that bridge when you get there, cuz it shouldn't happen enough to be a concern.

Re: Soft reset button?
I have had no freeze ups at all. I did drill the hole though.

Re: Soft reset button?
I've had mine lock up so bad none of the buttons worked including the power off, so I had to take the cover off. Only happened once so far though.

You guys should try this and see if it works, its nice and simple, one press restart.

Re: Soft reset button?
I installed a power app like that, but sadly it was completely unresponsive on the screen and with any buttons. I know it's a rare deal though so no biggie.

No I mean the only time I locked up I couldn't access any apps to do a soft reset anyway. |

Re: Soft reset button?
I think mine locked up when it was trying to access the memory card where I had a ton of audio files (I was adding to a playlist), that's all I can guess. If I had waited it might have come back.
