Activate Verizon Touch Pro 2 on Sprint...
 

Is it possible? Has anyone done it? Both are CDMA... and I think you could do this before with the diamond and the TP1.

I'm dying to get a TP2 but I have Sprint SERO and don't wanna pay $500 for the phone... and i'm finding cheaper Verizon phones online....

Doubt anyone is going to bother trying, and even if they do, I'd assume it won't be anytime soon. There's not really any reason to bother doing it anyway, because the Sprint and VZW versions are pretty much identical. The only reason people wanted the original Sprint TP on VZW was because the original VZW TP was gimped.

Well there are some people out there that don't want to resign a contract for whatever reason or just don't qualify for any rebates and is willing to pay full price, the verizon version is $110(no contract price) cheaper than sprint so if it was possible I am sure someone out there would like to know.

You can get an upgrade credit of 150 after 22 months in contract. I was able to get that + 100 rebate + an additional 50 credit to my account after I called 4 times.

Really, man you can't complain even if you have to pay full price if you want the phone because you like me are getting an awesome deal on your service. I pay for 2 phones for what many users pay for one on other carries for the same phone.

In short, pay or wait.

That doesn't make a single bit of sense. Why would you sign a contract with a completely different carrier, one that you have absolutely no intention of using service with, and have to choose an incredibly overprices PDA plan that you'd be on the hook for for 2 years, just so you could take a phone that's $100.00 cheaper on the 2 year contract price and use it with Sprint? You'd be stuck paying a VZW bill and you'd be in the red a hell of a lot more than you were in the first place just by paying $100.00 less than with Sprint.

Seriously, where's the logic?

The logic doesn't involve signing up with Verizon. You can buy Verizon TP2's with no contract on Ebay for $350.00.

Thank you, I didn't see what was so hard about understanding what I was trying to say. I can walk into a verizon store first thing in the morning or ebay like you said, pay for it then have a tp2 from VW that hasn't been activated.

Nonetheless, I have a long history getting these phones to work on other carriers networks. It's really a lot more work than it's worth, especially now that they are more diligent about cross referencing your MEID against their approved ESN list. And getting EVDO working is a downright chore. Even if you could do any of this, you need HardSPL, and it isn't out yet.

i called Sprint 3 times so far. All I could get was a stupid $75 off the full price... Maybe the 4th time is the charm... Anyway, it was still $500+ to get it on Sprint... if I can get the Verizon, Sprint or Tellus TP2 on ebay (or online) without a contract for < $350 i'd be getting a great deal...

Except I need to make sure I can activate it on Sprint... :)

Hmmm... thanks man! this helps me focus my efforts on getting a clean Sprint version... at least for now.

Anyway, if anyone is able to activate it across networks please let us know :D
