Earpiece volume too low

My 1st TP2 had good audio quality in the earpiece, and now this one doesn't....but it doesn't have the pixel/keyboard issues what to do...what to do.....

Might be a carrier thing. I noticed big differences in sprint vs verizon on the titan too, even running the same rom. I would almost say this phone is often almost too loud and I found myself running it at the lowest volume setting. I have the default "one volume bar" disabled if that makes a difference.
