Weird issue installing TomTom....
 

So for some very strange reason I have not been able to get ANY of my TomTom cabs to install on my TP2. The wait icon just spins and spins and spins but the program never installs.

Any of you guys seen this before or have any idea what could be?

Try opening the keyboard while installing.....That's what worked for me....Why? I have no idea...But GPS programs take a while to install...Even IGO i had to reset my phone 6 times before it worked perfectly.

mines took a long time to im using 7.4

Have you installed any registry tweaks or cab hacks? TomTom installed perfectly for me on the first go round. Same with iGo, aside from the 'initializing warning database' thing but that only took about 20 minutes.

Thanks guys! When I first tried to install I did have some tweaks in place BUT I hard reset and tried again and got the same thing. I have been running TT for the last 4 years on my devices and never saw anything like the wait times to load so I figured something was wrong. (*I just got iGO8 so we'll see how that goes)

I'll open the keyboard and will just wait it out and try to reinstall TT7 a few times as it sounds like I'm not the only one....

It's the verison of TomTom you are installing. I had the same problem. I was able to find and install version TomTom 7.915(9106) which works great.

sometimes you need to start the install, wait a few minutes & then go back to the home page, open task manager & select the TomTom installation & you will find it's been waiting for you to decide where you want to load the cab (internal/storage card). NOt sure why this happens, but for whatever reason the pop-up does not come up by itself all the time.

I'm installing TTN.7.916.9189 and will try that task manager trick as well. :)

OK! So I had the keyboard open, let it run for about 5 minutes and then clicked the "Home" hardware button and the progress bar TOOK OFF! So I think it's finishing the install up but it hasn't confirmed that it was finished yet... so strange, but thank you all for the suggestions.

ETA: Ok, so I let it sit for 5 more minutes and then went to the today screen to check the task manager and sure enough the install was complete and it didn't pop up the page to restart the device. :D

*Now to get the 480x800 skin so I can get iGO8 working!
