Unable to start bluetooth stack?

I guess my bluetooth isn't working anymore. I don't use it, but I tried turning it on and it won't start.

My guess is you have installed TomTom.

If you have Tom Tom installed, you need to delete or rename following files & soft reset,

/Windows/BtCoreIf.dll
/Windows/BtSdkCe30.dll

It's easy to rename or move.

Hope this will solve your problem.

No I mean it's not even turning on, looks like it's something with the driver. I go to the comm manager and click the bluetooth switch, it turns gray, then 15 seconds later "Can't turn on Bluetooth" in a popup, in the submenu where it says "Bluetooth must be turned on to use this feature. Turn on Bluetooth" clicking YES gives a "Cannot start the Bluetooth stack."

I'm going to try this. I'm assuming that I need to copy the files to somewhere else, make them NOT read-only, then copy them back in order to delete/rename?

that is the same message I would get when I used an older version of CleanRAM. A soft reset would fix it until CleanRAM ran again. Updated the the app to the newest beta version and it doesn't happen anymore. (just another thing you can check.)

Ironically, I do use CleanRAM, but upon soft resets, it's still the same. I updated to the new Beta version and it still occurs after soft resets.

I don't have TomTom, but probably some remnants of Garmin. I'm having trouble deleting/renaming these files. I thought it would be easy, but they are read-only and nothing is allowing me to delete/move them.

It is weird how different each of these versions are, huh? So, now is the time I would cry a little bit and then hard reset. :(

I had my phone set up twice and then screwed around with something to mess it up bad ... once I couldn't get my computer to recognize my phone at all ... had to hard reset and start again. My husband thinks I screw things up so I can start again 'cause I love to do it. (He's crazy.)

I would reset if I truly needed it. Honestly, I'd have to search through my mess just to get my headset. I bought it 3 years ago and never used it. I bought a BT dongle, too, for my PC but never used that either.

I'm hoping someone had some Bluetooth driver install sitting around...

You will have this problem if you do not have the shortcut for bttrayCE in your startup. Put it there and reboot. It should work.

Cheers

My phone does this after running CleanRam sometimes....A soft reset will fix that issue...I still use cleanram but i set it to schedule to softrest my phone every 3 hrs instead of cleaning.

My phone did this after I did a hard reset & installed the TP2 cleanup. I ended up having to hard reset again. After freaking out & thinking my brand new phone was defective, lol...

I don't use BT much, but tried it and got the error the OP mentioned. I had moved the startup link since I rarely use BT. Ran it manually and the BT worked. Thanks for the heads up.

Worked like a charm... used Total Commander to execute the file rename, rebooted and the OS recreated the stacks from the ROM :)
