well the name "buttplumber" is probably the first thing you have to "FLASH" lol J/K. Na, I really don't know. One of the first things you are going to have to do is get the esn on metro. I don't know how "hard" that will be but good luck

it's pretty much the same for all htc phones. there's some great guides written up in the touch pro section of this forum.
i haven't seen anyone that has done it on the tp2 yet, but i don't see why it can't be done. unless the houdini software doesn't support it

Ya I was thinking the same thing, I know a bunch of people with TP1's were able to do it and since the software is the same I would imagine you can do it with the TP2 hope this helps a lil......http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...72&postcount=8

great info in that post mike jones. i just checked the Supported Devices List on the Houdini website and the Touch Pro 2 is not on there yet, but might be worth a try to go to a local metro shop and see

Until HardSPL is released I don't think you're going to get this on Metro PCS. Once that's available it's fairly easy to do it.

what do you mean 8? it makes no difference if there's a hard spl or not.

All the phone's I've hacked to work on Verizon, or any flashing for that matter, required the phone to be unlocked via HardSPL first. Once unlocked I could then flash the radio necessary to do the required programming. Just going in to EPST and changing a few thing wasn't enough. Is Metro PCS different?

getting a sprint (or others) htc phone to work on metropcs does not require changing the radio or rom, so unlocking is not required. you just have to reprovision (houdini software) and setup wap (data) and mms

I should have researched MetroPCS and Houdini a little further before I answered this question. I just assumed flashing the TP2 to work on Metro would be the same process as getting a Verizon TP2 to work on Sprint or vice versa. Am I correct that Houdini is also unlocking the SPL to do what it needs to do?

with hspl you can flash to metro or with houdini software. the hspl will be out before that software is updated that is why everyone is saying wait for the hspl. i'm almost certain that software runs off the hspl but i'm not certain. But if houdini uploads theirs 1st then use it but i highly doubt that will happen.

I was able to flash the mogul over to metro i little over a year ago by going into epst and changing some of the info in there but I cannot access the epst the same way on this phone. I think sprint put some kind of lock on it. I think I might have to flash the rom so that I can access epst and see if that works. Im gonna go to a metro store right now and see what they have to say.

Just take it to metro they'll do it. Only thing youll have to do is setup the internet and mms

from what i've read in the hofo metropcs forum, houdini software just reprovisions the phone and does not do anything with firmware or software on the phone, like it does when unlocking with hspl. They refer to this process as flashing, but it is not the flashing in the terms that we use it. I've seen it said many times by the pros over there, that even after you get the houdini flash, your phone is still locked, and in order to flash a custom rom after getting the houdini flash, you still have to unlock with the hspl unlocker. That is my understanding of it all.

metro cannot flash the TP2, houdini cannot tell when they will be able to add the TP2. I have the PRL loaded, went to a corporate store to have the esn put in their system. That was 3 days ago, still waiting to activate....

its all about step 6 on that other guide apparently... making the mrl be 000000

bottom line, before you flash it you need to have your MSL/SPC code set to 000000's(zeros) I am a dealer for metro, believe me when I tell you I tried everything before reading the guide and it didn't work.

Well theres a thread here that someone has a TP2 on MEtro, so obviously its possible, but, ugh, why?? Thats like putting the engine to a Ferrari into a Pinto :|

You shouldn't make assumptions without asking why first, I prefer to not be obligated by a contract, and metro's lineup blows huge monkey nuts, so I got my TP2 with WAP, MMS,GPS, and email, for probably 1/4 to 1/2 of what your spending with a contract. Again, no disrespect intended by posting this, just trying to show you a different perspective . :headbang:

Well...I pay nothing for my unlimited plan AND dont have a contract AND get upgrades every year lol. And Id rather pay double to get 1423452353456345 times the coverage. And I love the people that "hate contracts" but stick with a non-contract company for 4 years and never get upgrades and any benefits. But to each his own
