No, it will not effect your email in any way

Ahh.... thank you. I was waiting for someone to mention my sig. I do want to get one for the screen size. But I wont pay 1 penny for it. If Sprint swaps it our for my Pro1, I will be contempt. I will loose several features that are awsome on the Pro1 like the megnetic stylus, LED light and Hybrid Capacitive Dpad and ofcourse a stuck or dead pixel free LCD screen. But on the other hand I will gain a bigger screen. So to answer your question... I might get one if its swapped out. But remember.. I WILL not pay one penny for it.

well, have you got the ball rolling on a replacement?

I haven't downloaded it to try it, but I'm guessing it's the Pre-caching mod. TF3D pre-loads some files/programs into memory to try and make load times faster, but it effects overall system performance and doesn't do much to improve the speed of things. If the cab is what I think it is, it just disables this/sets it dynamically to save system memory and speed things up.

EDIT: Just downloaded it and checked it out and that is what it does. I saved ~25-30% system memory between those two tweaks.

well, with the term proxy, I would think it would have to do with something network filter related. Your thought makes sense, but where would the slow-down occur with the fix? For example, Windows Vista has a precache for file searching. If you turn that off, it takes longer to search for files when you're on a hunt. Would it mean that certain programs that use a lot of local files slow down their startup? Would it mean that file explorer loads each folder slower? Or does it go along with the internet push idea that its precaching your favorites and commonly connected websites?

I think the idea is that it's pre-loading a lot of data that isn't necessarily going to be used by you that could be used for something else. If the data is in memory, I would think that the CPU has to keep track of what is there, so disabling it should also free up some CPU power, but I don't know about that. Here is the post that explains it a little. Otherwise, I have no idea what it pre-caches or how it determines what should be pre-cached and what shouldn't

I went from 78% to 48 % used after both mods. I'm at 96.58 mb's free. Definitely a bit more freed up. The phone feels snappier. Hopefully a Rom update will cure all of our ails.

Very interesting!

Can someone just confirm the presence of uninstall entries for both cabs?
