Brand new 16gb MicroSD card cut in half due to bad design :(

Sorry for being negative, but I love my TP2, so this is constructive criticism. I had to soft reset my TP2 for something, so I took off the batter cover, reset it, and put it back on. I noticed it wasn't going back on right, so I checked, and there's the Micro SD sticking out, bent. When I touched it, it broke in half. This should not have happened for two reasons:

1) The MicroSD card should not come out. I hate load-in designs. Why not do it like the Touch Pro, where you just place it next to the battery if I remember right?

2) I shouldn't have to take the battery cover off to reset it. There should be a hole through the battery cover on the side. Yes, I can drill my own, but I shouldn't have too.

Anyway, sorry to vent, but you would be mad too, as I just got this card yesterday. Worse yet is the other half is stuck in the phone. Any tips for getting it out?

you can try to lightly tap it on a desk or try putting another card in to get the locking mechanism to push it out.

I hope you have insurance, and you should forward your complaints to the manufacture. Thats all the advice I have... I know.. not very useful...

The other card idea is pretty good, assuming you have another one.

Otherwise if the tip of the Stylus fits?

The end of a set of tweezers or knife.

Or depending how deep, maybe the corner of a credit card.

Good luck!

Tried putting another card in, but it pushed it back and forth. I need the card too, so I can return it to New Egg.

Actually just pull it out with a really big magnet! Should get it out of there real easy.

Well, got a new card coming from New Egg. Problem 1 solved, but I still need a new TP2. Should I just call Verizon Customer Service?

Uh, the TP1 had the same mechanism. It's a flick-in design.

You are correct, dunno what I was thinking about.

Anyway, to update, I have a new 16gb microSD coming from New Egg, and a new TP2 coming from Verizon, both for free.
