Any Way to Change Max Zoom Level ??

I could swear that my old Touch could zoom in way farther. I was poking around the reg but I couldnt find anything that limits the zoom level. I have some hi res maps and I can only zoom in so far.
Any way to change how much you can zoom in?

regedit zoombarmaxlevel set to anything over 197

Where is zoombarmaxlevel please? I did a phone search for this registry key and it came up empty :-(
