Activesync is alive even when TP2 is in Standby

I've noticed that when my Sprint TP2 is connected to PC via a usb cable, the activesync connection will always be alive even if I turn of my phone with the power button. I don't think I saw the same behavior with my previous HTC vogue. Anyone seeing the same thing?

My TP2 is having pretty lame battery life and now I suspect that it never really goes to standby when I press the power button. I used acbPowerMeter to monitor power consumption and found the power chart continues to draw even after I pushed the power button. So it looks like the power button only made the phone turning off the screen instead of having it go to standby. Any idea why this may happen? Thanks.

I dont think you can ever truly kill AS, it always pops back up.
I just go to Start/Settings/System/TaskManager/ExclusiveTAB
Than click and hold on it and pick add to exclusive.
Now you will never see it again

I wish there was a way to kill activesync all together, as in never having it start at all. I've tried ASkicker but it did not works like i thought.

Anyone know if a way to disable activesync? As I will NEVER use it.

No I am not talking about killing the activesync process. I know it will go back on after a while. But what I am seeing right now is it never went off for a second.

Can somebody try this please: have your tp2 on battery, start a battery monitor like this one http://www.acbpocketsoft.com/, then press the power button to turn your phone off. After a couple of minutes, turn your phone back on, do you see the power chart drawn for the past couple of minutes at all? if yes, what is your rough mA number? Thanks.

My battery's static drain is at an alarming 150mA with no Wifi or bt, which means with a 1500mAh battery it can only last 10 hours of "standby". This can't be right.
