Verizon GPS issue
Hi all, I'm experiencing a problem with the Verizon GPS on the TP2. After I had already installed some tweaks and programs I attempted to use the gps with Garmin Mobile XT and Google Maps. Neither program worked, both would say searching for satellites until they timed out. I thought maybe a tweak or program had messed something up so I hard reset and tried with just google maps. No go, still getting seeking gps satellites (0). I'm wondering if there are any special settings in winmo that need to be enabled to get this to work since I know gps is supposed to be unlocked on Verizon. I went into External GPS under settings and it's set to have win mo manage GPS automatically. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Verizon GPS issue
Garmin XT works fine for me... it works exceptionally well, actually.
Are you sure you have location services enabled? If you can't find the setting, it should prompt you the first time you run QuickGPS. |
Re: Verizon GPS issue
Thankyou for the quick reply, where is quickgps?

Re: Verizon GPS issue
It took me a few mins also to find the place to turn location on. I got pretty annoyed and thought they hid it well.

Re: Verizon GPS issue
Yeah I don't know why they can't put it out in the open. They've got settings to turn on everything else when you first turn on the phone, you'd think GPS would be a big one. Anyway I did get it working, I'll be testing out the gps tomorrow. Awesome, thanks for the help guys

Re: Verizon GPS issue
They likely hid the GPS settings so that people pay them the monthly fee for VZNavigator rather than being able to use the GPS without the service fee. Not like it's that hard to enable it though as opening QuickGPS will turn it on, and for me, that was one of the programs pinned toward the top of the start menu with TF3D
