LED Camera "Flash"
I have a Touch Pro 1, and can't imagine not having the LED "flash." I use it for taking pics in low light, but I also use it a LOT as a flashlight.
Has anyone tried to hack an LED onto the Touch Pro 2? It shouldn't be *too* difficult. Just need to tap into the phone's power and drill a couple holes (1 for the LED to shine through, and 1 for a tiny switch to turn on power to the LED when you want it). |
Re: LED Camera "Flash"
LOL!... I know. Its the Pro2 had a led light and magnetron Stylus.. I woul;dnt mind getting it just for the screen size. but only if Sprint sold it to me for 12 dollars.

Re: LED Camera "Flash"
It's so damned disappointing that the TP2 doesn't have a flash LED. I used mine on the TP1 as a flashlight as well.

Carry one of these:
http://www.streamlight.com/product/class.aspx?cid=13 thetoolwarehouse.net and many other places carry the original stylus cheap. Much brighter then any phone flash... Yes, i miss the super bright led in my Titan, but these are brighter anyways and can go places a phone can't easily. |

Carrying another light is not the same really, I ALWAYS have my phone with me. No matter how small/light an extra light is, the first time I need it I will have left it on my kitchen table along with my truck keys....... ~John |

I used this FlashLight program on my Diamond and it was good. Works on the TP2 as well.
Check it out here: http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-...lashlight.html I'm attaching the zip, too. Extract it, put the exe on your storage card and then put a short cut in programs. YEA! |
Re: LED Camera "Flash"
I really miss that LED flash as well. It's such a shame that they left it out on the Touch Pro2.

Re: LED Camera "Flash"
A hack is now available for those that need a flashlite on the TP2.

Re: LED Camera "Flash"
Coming as a vogue owner, what I did was place a blank white image (set to the size and resolution of the screen) in the programs folder and had it set to open with htc album. I assigned it to a hardware key (in my case it was the camera button if you held it, rather than just pressing it). I know it's not nearly the same, but it's about the best you can do, at least until the hardware hacks come into play.

» FlashLight Description Developer: TWolf Support Email: twolfer@gmail.com Web Site: http://twolf.sytes.net v5 http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/img2...e_freeware.gif I wanted to make a flashlight in flash for some time now... The idea to use the pocket as a light is very useful and sometimes even necessary, either not to wake up someone, see in some dark stairs, getting late to the movies, etc etc... The software on the link above shows a application that uses the camera flash on WM machines, but most Pocket PC's don't have that hardware. So I though of making something similar, but only for the screen, for all those that don't have a camera flash, but have Adobe flash! The idea of this software is not only a quick flashlight (that you can have on a hardware key or icon, so that you have an easy access), but also many other uses. So I made a semi-hidden touchscreen menu that gives access to all these light applications: - LAMP, a simple white screen. - Strobe, to call for attention (or hypnotize someone º_o). - Fader, with fade-in/fade-out light, like a lighthouse. - SOS, that spells s.o.s in morse code. - Disco, random bright colorful lights, like a disco. - PEN, in which you can draw temporary light forms. - LIGHTER , for fun on a concert, as you can see on the picture. - LOVELYGHT, just a visual test, also good for the loved ones. - Android boot animation. - LightSaber with sounds. Press top, middle or bottom of the screen for diferent effects, or use your keypad. - Starlight animation (heavy on CPU). - Exit, obviously to leave the application, you can also use the ENTER (in the middle of the keypad) at any moment. To use: As you enter the app, it places you pocket's screen on full bright mode and removes any fade-out and stand-by option. As you exit it restores your previous settings. If you click on the screen while on the LAMP area, it changes between 8 colors. If you click on the FADER screen, it changes between 5 colors. If you click on the SOS screen, it allows you to create your own morse code, just click and hold your finger on the screen for it to remain white (still with bugs), if you don't click it for a while it goes back to the automatic SOS. http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/8942/lolsq1.jpg Video preview of FlashLight Download FlashLight free for Your Windows Mobile Phone |

Buy A flash Light for A dollar from "dollar Shop" and keep it with you, in key chain. Using TP2 for flash light will drain all battery in mins.
