TomTom is really slow!
 

I've been playing with different versions of TomTom on my Verizon Touch Pro2. They load OK, but then when I get in the car, it's really slow. By that, I mean that movement of the "car" is really slow, so it's not keeping up with my location on the map. I'll make 3 turns and the screen will still show me making my first turn.

I've used this same TomTom software on an HTC Titan (xv6800), Vogue (Touch), and it runs fine on those.

Any suggestions? I've performed a hard reboot, etc. I wonder if there's a GPS driver that's causing problems.

What's strange is that the GPS is really accurate when I'm using Google Maps, Bing, etc. The "lag" only occurs with TomTom software.

I am having the same issue. I have even tried the "fix" tomtom (7.916.9189) made just for the tp2 and no change. Anyone find a way to fix this?

I wonder if this GPS lag is specific to Verizon versions of the Touch Pro2.

Other users (don't know which carrier) seem to report no problems.

What I don't understand is why Google Maps is fine, but TomTom is really bad.

Its not just Verizon. TomTom runs terrible for me also I tried a bunch of different versions. Its funny how TomTom worked ok on my TP1. I have even tried the same cab that was used on my tp1

if igo is smooth it sounds like a problem with tomtom. The only problem is some verizon users say theres no problems?

Bottom line: TP2 has GPS lag issues. Anyone that isn't having an issue, just isn't driving fast enough. Firmware upgrade will hopefully improve this, whenever it comes out.

I can be walking down the street and it still doesn`t keep up lol! i called htc and they said it was configured to work with vznavigator so i have a feeling verizon has crippled the gps some how to make you buy the navigator plan which is bs!

Well what do you expect when you run tom tom at highr resolution with no 3d drivers? You get Tomtom on Pro 2.

You think when we get 6.5 or a firmware update this will stop? it lags also on sprint so not just a verizon problem.

Really it shouldn't be that much different then my tp1 the resolution difference isn't that much.
