ive used my current Jabra BT250v ear piece on my old HTC Touch with no issues. I'm now using it with my TP2 and it often wont hang up the call no matter how many times i press the button on the device. i tried looking for something in the registry but find nothing. is this a phone specific issue? any ideas? it even functions perfect with a blackberry my wife has.

See this thread:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=84878

And please submit your complaint to HTC here:
http://www.htc.com/us/CS_Mail.aspx

Then call your carrier and file a complaint with them as well. The more who get in on this, the more likely we'll get a fix.

I agree. I'll put 20 bucks that someone here fixes it before HTC does.

As a temporary fix, I've noticed that if you're having problems with your headset it helps to turn it off and then back on. Most problems happen for me when I have the headset turned on before I turn the phone on and it connects during the boot process.

I would really pay if who ever on here finds the solution. I'm willing to donate for someone to take time and start trying to fix this problem.

Someone should make a Poll, so we get an idea of how many people are having this problem. I know not everyone uses BT HS but for the ones that due it would be nice to know who has problems and who doesnt. From what i have expericance this happens with all the headsets i have. Jawbone 2 and prime Jabra 250v and Jabra5050 plantrinic voyager and a motorola as well. So we all know is not a BT HS problem but a phone problem. All the above head sets work with my PPC 6700, mogul, and Touch Pro.

Question one

1. hanging up problem
2. Pairing problem
3. Every time you turn on headset the volume low.
4. All of the Above

I would make the poll but i dont have any idea how to.

The solution will be when we get a HardSPL and can replace this terrible Widcomm stack with a Microsoft stack.

Unfortunately, resetting the device isn't working for me.

Are you resetting the bluetooth device or your TP2?

Re: bluetooth headset funtionality

I additionally noticed that on the phone screen when answering a call using the bluetooth, the headset icon isn't in the line up till seconds after the answer button is pressed on the bluetooth....almost like its reconnecting to the phone. the headset icon is showing on the top bar though. is this also common?

I got $50 for anyone that comes up with a fix for this bullshiz problem. Seriously, You pay good money for a phone and have to deal with this kinda crap.

sounds to me like there some missing reg entries, but what do I know, I'm happy with my tp1.
I know these might not be the same, but it's a place to start. here's the reg from my s9, there is a key for hands-free profile.
Code:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Device\000dfd100bd8]
"trusted"=dword:00000001
"class"=dword:00240404
"name"="Motorola S9"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Device\000dfd100bd8\Services\0000111e-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb]
"sdprecord"=hex:
"name"="Hands Free"
"channel"=dword:00000001
"enabled"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Device\000dfd100bd8\Services\0000110b-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb]

I'm registry edit retarded. I know how to follow instructions though. :)

helix139 09-17-2009 10:02 PM

Re: bluetooth headset funtionality

I wouldn't apply those registry edits. Those apply to the MS bluetooth stack from the TP1, not the Widcomm stack that we have. We're going to have to wait for the HardSPL so we can flash our own ROMs with the MS bluetooth stack.

My problems are hanging up and not being able to dial with voice command. Its sad that the TP beats the TP2 at this....not for long I hope

Re: bluetooth headset funtionality

I’m a noob on this kind of thing but would it be possible for one of the gurus to cab up the Microsoft BT stack or is it so imbedded in the ROM that this would be impossible?

I guess I will have to find my headset and pair it. But my BT in my car works perfectly. (In dash cd with built in BT)

Both. I've even removed the pairing and re-paired them. Hard reset, soft reset, two different BT devices now...

Paired my BT H500 and it works. Can dial using Voice Command, Answer and End.

Re: bluetooth headset funtionality

Just talked to a VZ tech on another problem and they are aware of the BT problem. If the techs know I'm sure that they have been leaning on HTC about this. It's a business phone and the businessman wont put up with this.

I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but when I turned on my bluetooth piece, Jawbone Prime, all the audio, including music, goes thru the piece, as if it's like a stereo bluetooth. I'm not sure if it's the Widcomm stock or that Touch Pro2 cleanup cab from the other thread.

Go into your bluetooth settings and open the tab on the left (with the gears on it). expand the Advanced option then open the audio option and uncheck the box to play system sounds on remote hands free device

Under the Bluetooth Options:Settings:Advanced:Audio is an option for playing System Sounds through the headset. I would guess that this option is set ...

Re: bluetooth headset funtionality

Just as a test, I went a bought a Plantronics Voyager Pro, charged it up, paired it to my TP2 and it seemed to work properly. I haven't use it that much yet though. I also paired it up to a Plantronics Voyager 855 and it worked properly also. both of those are "newer" models than my Jabra BT250v so I think new goes with new.

My Motorola H970 bluetooth headset works great for outgoing calls. However, half the time if I press the answer call button on the headset, it just changes the ringing from the TP2 to my headset, and doesn't answer the call. I have to pull my TP2 from its holster and then slide to answer. Very frustrating. Is this a part of the bluetooth issues with the TP2?

Yep. This Widcomm stack is terrible for handsfree devices. It works somewhat with a lot of them but perfectly with very few, unlike the MS stack with worked perfectly with 90% of them and not at all with very few

I have paired with and use regularly:

- Plantronics Discovery xxx handsfree
- Sony car stereo handsfree and stereo
- Insignia stereo headset & handsfree
- Motorola EXxxx, the little BT speaker

All work great, except I can't hang up a call from any headset. I don't use voice dial, so I can't comment. I can switch tracks using the Insignia no problem.

Using Plantronics Voyager 855.
Can't "end" calls with the earpiece.
I can voice-dial and voice-control apps.
I've never gotten the hang of call-waiting with a headset, so I can't say if that works...
The "pause" function on the earpiece works with my audio player (Pocket Tunes).

Thought I'd report my experience...

Just got the Motorola S805 DJ BT Headphones... Anyone interested, NewEgg has these units with an ASUS USB Mini BT dongle for $30 buck ($37 with shipping)... I thought it was a deal/steal...

Anyway, after using them all day today listening to Pandora and an occasional phone call, all I can say is WOW!!! Great sound quality and none of the above reported issues... I know they're bulk compared to the typical headset as these are more designed for Music and an occasional phone call, not the other way around... The unit is high quality, lightweight considering the size, comfortable and battery life is outstanding... You can use it via BT or 3.5MM cable... Play, Pause, Next and Previous on one side... Phone button and volume on the other side...

If you purchase, be sure to click Combo Deal to get the ASUS USB BT Dongle for free...
