is it me or was this phone suppose to have 288mb

the rest of the memory is for video

Video recording?

not movie video, but video as in video card. Just like inexpensive desktops with onboard video cards the 1gb of ram they come with only 768mb is available for programs, the video card reserves 256mb for output to the monitor... Same idea here...
when you think about what this thing can do 100mb really isnt that bad. Yeah I wish it had more like 512 total, but then they wouldnt be able to come out with a better model next month...

please qoute the person that was directed to cuz i just looked at the post and was like i already know that $h!t but noticed that some one asked if it was for video recording!!

It's there but it' being used by the OS. Go to All Settings, System tab. Device Information, and then go to the Hardware tab. Should say something like:
RAM Size: 288 mb
OS Program Memory: 100 something
Program Memory: whatever's left.

has anyone found a way to edit the amount of video ram is used?
is that amount of video mem needed? if not can we change it like we do with file page mem on the older devices

I'm sure its necessary. Why do u think the tp2 is so fast and responsive?

to me its not that much faster then the tp! but it is faster but not 100mb faster!! i just bought the phone for the bigger screen!!
