What about on a phone that is stuck at the Password screen like mine? it became non-responsive earlier today just after Christmas dinner, and first said my password was incorrect and now won't even respond to keys or gestures of any kind.

I tried the call/end/sleep button mix, the end/volume down mix, and everything else I could think of - nothing is happening, and I already did multiple soft resets by taking out the battery... THANKS SO MUCH for any help! :)
