Headphone audio quality of TP2 is far better than TP1
Just a note to those trying to decide on whether to upgrade from TP1 to TP2; The headphone audio out quality is far better than that of the TP1. I used mine for the first time today expecting the same audio quality of the past two devices I've owned (original Touch and the TP1). To my pleasant surprise the TP2 can drive my large headphones with far better sound fidelity. IMPRESSIVE!!! I can now get rid of my old Archos player!

You sure the TP2 doesn't have the EQ on by default or something?

I was thinking the same thing. I have not been able to find an EQ. The quality seems to be richer :), and i have only used bluetooth headphones

I know on the Sprint version there is an EQ you just have to press menu when in the music tab and go to "audio booster" it will give you an EQ with some presets and also the ability to make your own custom EQ curves.

At first I didn't have the EQ(Audio Boost) set to on. Either way I strongly feel that the TP2 audio quality is much cleaner throughout the entire dynamic audio range. The TP1 could never drive the coils of my large headphones. The TP2 makes them sound as they were intended.
FYI; The sprint EQ is labeled as "Audio Boost"just in case you can't find it. |
