Hard Reset question

This is my first smartphone/win mobile phone... and I'm curious if a hard reset will always bring it back to "stock" configuration?

Say we did have the HardSPL (whatever that is/does) with custom roms installed, would a hard reset clean everything back to the original stock rom?

Say we SIM unlocked the phone, would a hard reset affect that?

I guess, I'm just curious how "adventurous" I can get... trying to figure out how comprehensive the safety net is should I ever need it.

A hard reset will reset it to the original installed rom, so if you had a custom rom and did a hard reset then it would wipe everything out but you will still have the custom rom. As for the sim unlocked part of it, I don't know, I haven't owned a gsm phone to know.

If you get your phone unlocked and than do a hard reset, your phone will remain sim unlocked. The sim unlock is a different part of the phone from what i've read.

Don't worry though, you can get pretty adventurous, as long as you can get into bootloader, you can always flash the stock rom. I've yet to see someone actually brick their phone on here, it's not an easy thing to do.
