Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2 - Missing Conference Call Button on Dialer..?

I was using a T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro 2 for the past week and just recently received my Sprint TP2...

On the dialer on the Sprint TP2 there is no conference call button/slider on the bottom right as there was on the T-Mobile TP2.. Instead that button is the back button..

Whats going on? Are all Sprint TP2's this way? How can I get the conf button on my dialer?

Thanks.

[edit] I tried CMYLXGO's enhanced sprint dialer, which puts the button there, but the button is non-functional...

Also, as a side note, it seems the battery life on the Sprint TP2 is about 30% worse than the T-Mobile TP2.. Is this just a difference in CDMA and GSM?

I'm not sure how the T-Mobile version does it, but for the Sprint version, the Conference Button appears after you are on the first call, then hit Talk again. That places person #1 on hold, and allows you to choose another person to call. The conference button shows in the middle.

Here's a screenshot:

I've not really used the conference feature yet, I just played with it to get the screenshot.

I see.. On the T-mo version you can press the conf button before calling, which switches the dialer to conference mode. Then you select multiple contacts, then press the call button to connect all simultaneously..

Although it looks like we don't have the cool Conference Call feature -- anyone notice that conference button only comes up when you call both parties?

case 1: I dial party B, put B on hold. I then call party C, and the Conference button appears and I am able to 3-way.

case 2: I dial party B and then party C calls me. B is on hold, but instead of the Conference button, I have a Swap button. No button to conference.

case 3: same as case 2 but party B calls me first and then I dial party C. Swap button appears.

Nearly every phone I've had can still conference parties in. Am I missing something or is this option in a menu? Pretty ridiculous if it's not there...

Here's a little information on why it may differ from GSM to CDMA on our devices. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=456169

CDMA cannot currently handle more than 3 ppl on a line @ the same time. It's a software limitation. Perhaps someday they will implement an update, unfortunately compared to GSM it's a relatively new technology, which is also why the CDMA handsets suffer from worse battery life.

In addition the proprietary nature of CDMA has limited development. Overall CDMA has a tiny market share compared to GSM.
