Non-rubbery screen protectors
Before you criticize me for this thread, I SEARCHED, lol. I came across many threads, no doubt, about screen protectors for the TP2. Here's the thing, tons of people linked their preferred screen protector brands and such, but even when I browse those brands websites rarely do they say if they have a rubbery feel. I tried a friends Invisible Shield and that has way too much friction. I'm looking for something with the same texture as the screen itself while obviously providing adequate protection. So the question stands,
What non-rubbery but rather smooth and glossy screen protectors, with a non-adhesive backing, do you have to recommend? Much appreciation in advance |
Re: Non-rubbery screen protectors
I went from Boxwave to Brando's anti-glare screen protectors but, unfortunately nobody is selling a CDMA TP2 screen protectors at the moment

Re: Non-rubbery screen protectors
I know you want a non-adhesive solution, but the only protectors I've had success with have been hard solutions instead of film. I really like the Boxwave Cleartouch Crystal for the feel, way less friction on mine than the IS protector. No U.S. version for the TP2 yet though.

Re: Non-rubbery screen protectors
The Sprint TP2 comes with screen protector and it is awesome! It is in the box, you may have missed it.

Re: Non-rubbery screen protectors
I got a couple of Clarivue screen protectors from their website, http://www.clarivue.com. I've got the Telus TP2 and the screen protector fits nicely and works great, and doesn't have the friction effect you're talking about.

I used to have the invisible shield on my Mogul. It's great don't get me wrong, but I do agree it changes the texture of the phone.

Re: Non-rubbery screen protectors
i am using the OEM screen protector... once it's put on correctly it's hard to tell it's there.
http://www.daydeal.com/product.php?p...36228&cat=4460 this one looks like an OEM protector and it's only $7.99 compared to those overly expensive boxwax and invisible sheild covers. never again will i spend $20-$25 on a piece of plastic. |

Is this the same quality as the screen protector that comes standard with the phone? When I purchased the TP2 from Sprint, I also order 5 additional screen protectors from them. Those 5 extra were cheap, and scratched way to easily and made the phone look like hell. I put the original on the TP2, and WOW! It is smooth, and doesn't scratch easily. Additionally, it fits exactly. I would like to get 2 or 3 extras incase I need one in a pinch. I actually just got accepted today to send my phone into Zagg to get a free InvisibleShield put on it. I've never had one or seen an InvisibleShield before. I'm debating on whether or not to do it. I have to provide them a tracking number within 48 hours before they decline my invitation. Any thoughts on the InvisibleShield, as well as getting some screen protectors exactly like the ones the TP2 shipped with? Thanks in advance, Cosmo |
Re: Non-rubbery screen protectors
I ended up getting these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=260462992673 because it looked like it didn't have the front facing camera (like the picture.) FYI: They are hard plastic (but flexible, not rubbery) but the underside is some kind of soft rubber, not really adhesive like... but it works great.
Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the quality/fit/finish was a little tricky (and not picture perfect due to a spec of dust) but happy nonetheless. What I got/how it fits the Telus TP2: http://pbeaul.net/images/TP2Protector.jpg |
Re: Non-rubbery screen protectors
You know, since it is just a little piece of plastic that is included (in the Sprint version at least), why can't these be put on for us in HTC's sterile assembly environment? That would be a great customer service and added value statement to me.

Re: Non-rubbery screen protectors
I ended up going with these from Pocket Solutions...
http://www.thepocketsolution.com/PSI...Protector.html They were cheap, came in a pack of 3, and I've read a few good things about them. Most importantly, they have the glossy feel I was looking for. I'll post back once they've arrived and I've installed them. |
Re: Non-rubbery screen protectors
The BoxWave ClearTouch Anti-Glare, is the best screen protector for any device. I've tried many, and nothing beats it's stylus AND finger feel, durability, anti glare properties, etc. It's just so great. I've had them on everything since my Clie TG50.
I emailed them today to see what the ETA of a CDMA version is, I'll post back here with their response. |

How would this one work on the sprint tp2????? i see a little hole up top so would this not be a good one for sprint? the one posted above is from hong kong takes forever to get where this is a usa seller and 3-5 days. |
Re: Non-rubbery screen protectors
Anyone want to check the one in the link above this and tell me if you think it will work on the sprint touch pro?

Re: Non-rubbery screen protectors
I have been using ghost armor on my 6800's and TP for a long while now. I compared multiple textures on other people's phones and ghost armor is BY FAR less rubbery.

Right after they are put on the screens they are rubbery and bumpy but it's almost like they harden and smooth out after a week or so. I've had on on my TP1 since I got it and barely even notice it there. I do like the other types of harder plastic screen protectors but I love my Zagg. |
Re: Non-rubbery screen protectors
I bought the Zagg package of 3 universal's from Best Buy, since I didn't feel the need to have to have the protection curve around the buttons on bottom or speaker on top. It made it easier to put on, and I don't snag the edges like I was doing with the stock protector. The Zagg do smooth out over the course of about a week, and they are so easy to put on. My only issue is one tiny speck of dust in the middle of the screen. I'm debating about whether to start over since the protector is reusable. Its just that in all other respects I've got mine installed perfectly. Oh, OCD decisions, decisions... lol

Re: Non-rubbery screen protectors
I ordered from ClearProtector.com when they were having a sale- has anyone tried them out?? right now I have the sprint one (that came in the box) on and don't want to replace it with something that has a rubbery feel

Re: Non-rubbery screen protectors
So where can we get a oem replacement? i mean HTC should sell these right? i was going to get 1 from sprint but i heard they are cheap and no good.
It is just a piece of plastic and they give us 1 which i guess is better then nothing but if you screw it up what are you to do? |

If you want some cheap covers that do the job, these are fine. I was originally disappointed, but I've actually come to like them. |
Re: Non-rubbery screen protectors
I screwed up my oem protector right out of the box. I ended up finding these ( http://www.foreverfitters.com/servle...o-2/Categories ). I haven't received them yet but was told they are the same as oem. I bought regular, anti-glare, and mirror. We will see I guess
