Re: opera problems

Does doing this really do any good? The reason I ask is that I think perhaps the page pool will release some of the Opera memory if you actually get to the point of needing it. I know some computer systems do similar things. Has anyone tested this? Because if it just lead to a slower Opera with no REAL benefit, maybe it's not such a good hack, and causes you to lose the pre-fetching of pages that the TP2 does (or whatever it's called)

Re: opera problems

The advantage of being able to close Opera completely, IMO, is being able to actually save changes made in opera:config.

This was the only way I was able to kill opera completely....

Opera Browser questions.

1. Why can't I select links when zoomed out?
2. Why no flash support? EI has flash, but has it's own problems.
3. Sometimes Opera zooms while trying to pan. What the heck?
4. Is there any other decent browser for TP2?

Re: Opera Browser questions.

Have you tried Skyfire? It supports flash and it's pretty decent. I think I saw a cab around here to enable flash on Opera Mobile though.

Re: Opera Browser questions.

Thank you! Skyfire seems to work well though I can't seem to make it the default browser and the text looks kinda ugly but, it works better than EI and a great backup for sure.

What version of Opera comes on the TP2? I just accidentally installed an older version and wiped it out.](*,)

1... thats just the way they did it.
2.this version of opera dont support flash i believe, also who uses their native browser anyway.lol j/k
3.you must be double tapping on accident or your fingers skipping on the screen while panning, or ya accidentaly touching the zoom bar (likely not).
4... i like opera mini 4.2 and opera mobile 9.7 and of course skyfire for all flash vids.

Opera mini wont install on my phone, it just gets hung up during install and the progress bar only gets to about 20%.:(

Thanks, I found it and downloaded it to the phone.

When I start it now, it first says....HTC loading, then it starts but its like it has no internet connection, however IE works fine. :(

Strange, I just noticed it works on Wifi but not on Sprint?????
It still says HTC loading for 5 seconds first then it loads.

Opera Mini works and is awesome.

1. Download and install Jbed
2. Load "Java" from start menu
3. Install Opera Mini from Java

1. Huge drawback
2. Gimme flash!
3. I'm not double tapping but the screen seems to think I am. This zoom feature needs to be disabled.
4. Opera Mini 4.2 is my current fave. I can click a tiny link easily and no errant zooming.

What makes Opera Mobile 9.7 better?
