Email accounts don't show up

For some reason after I go through the whole process of creating an email account and entering all the settings and everything, and then when hit finish, it just doesn't show up! Does anyone know what could be happening?

Re: Email accounts don't show up

I'm trying to do a GMail account. First I tried it with the automatic settings. Then I tried manually doing it. I don't see why if I put in some wrong settings the account doesn't at least appear and just not work. After I finish doing the account it just goes back to the mail screen and in the middle says "no accounts".

I even tried going into settings and clear memory back to factory and re do it, and still, I finish setting up the account and it's just like it all got canceled.

[edit] I just tried making account with random letters in all the settings and it created it... is this something to do with gmail? And I am trying to do IMAP. And yes I have it set to that on gmail.

Found this in a TP forum for configuring gmail on WM6.1....

Here are the steps, and step 3 answers you question about 'random' characters. This is a known issue with gmail...
