Re: Official Touch Pro 2 defects thread
I just skimmed through this thread. Not many complaints from Verizon TP2's. Most of the initial rush should have received theirs by now and reported in. I'm hoping when mine arrives tomorrow it will be defect free.

Does anyone else notice that the side you push to slide is slightly elevated, loose and wobbly. I am trying to figure out if this is the nature of a slider phone, or poor build quality. I asked before but noone really chimed in so here's for perserverance

Really annoying little popping...might try and exchange it. Verizon, by the way. Yeah, it was like that on my Touch Pro, and a lot worse. My friend's Kaiser hardly does it at all though. Last edited by Kamokazi; 09-15-2009 at 02:18 PM. |

Re: Official Touch Pro 2 defects thread
i personally think the tmobile version is built the best, the stylus is built into the phone itself and the battery cover doesnt even have a slot for it because it doesnt touch it... the soft reset is on the outside, so is the sd card slot..
also the volume rockers are built into the phone and not the battery cover also..... seems to me they tied the battery cover in too much.... you dont ever have to take the tmobile cover off....but thats just My Opinion,

I took my chances with the HTC 1 year warranty. Well, the keyboard on my TP is almost dead and I had heard stories that people have had luck in the stores. The store told me they can't take my phone apart. So I called tech support, since I was told, by Sprint, and someone else, that they would handle the replacement of my phone via the HTC warranty. Tonight as I was driving home from the store I called and they told me something I couldn't believe: as of 11am today Sprint tech support is no longer authorized to issue replacement handsets on behalf of HTC's 1 year warranty. I ended up in retentions and all I got out of it was a refurb, which is the same as what I would have gotten in the store (I asked). Even worse, she claimed my phone was out of warranty (it is not, March 09 build) but she was going to replace the phone "anyway." In case you ask, I have been with Sprint since 1999...ouch. |

Re: Official Touch Pro 2 defects thread
I feel you pain on Sprint service. My contract is up and tried to negotiate with them yesterday and the local store said the Corporation set the prices while Verizon and T-Mobile are all much lower on contracts, not to mention the iPhone. Looks like I better jump ship.

Re: Official Touch Pro 2 defects thread
I think I am looking at a $60 ETF which isn't that bad. And a $200 TP2 if I went to Verizon. I haven't priced plans but I understand they've come down a lot. I'll give this refurb a shot I guess.

Re: Official Touch Pro 2 defects thread
Does anybody have their "End Call" button recessed more than the "Call" button ?
Mine sits lower than the other 3 which is annoying because I have to hunt down that spot with my thumb to make sure I depressed it (the "click" feedback of the button is also very weak). Since I only have to press "End Call" about 600 times a day, this will be a problem. |
